When did the jays draft Adam Amar and what's the scouting report on him (prospect/suspect?)

Is Scott Richmond likely to reach the show this year & can he cut it as a major league starter - I love rooting

for the underdog?

Does Jonathan Jaspe have enough ability to stay at catcher? and where is he on the jays catching depth. Can he

play another position if he cannot stick at catcher?

Is dodgers shortstop prospect Ivan Dejesus good enough defensively to stay at ss in the major league? What would

the have to give up for him?

Thanks for any help with these questions. Love all the stuff about the minors.

Amar was signed as a free agent this year.  Amar was undrafted last year and played independent ball.

Richmond is a big success story but he has moved up a lot this season and it might be expecting too much for him to be promoted to the major leagues this season.

Jaspe is not really a prospect, he is back at Lansing for a second year and missed 50 game this season due to a suspension.

Richmond is 28 years old, and will turn 29 next month.  He spent most of this season with AA New Hampshire and had an ERA of just under 5.00.  He has done well in 3 starts at AAA.  Hard to see him as much of a prospect with an ERA just under 5.00 in AA in his age 28/29 season.  I don't know why he has done so well in his 3 AAA starts, but it will be interesting to see if he can continue to do well at that level.  I think it is highly unlikely, based on his AA results.

Jaspe is 23, old for low A ball, but he has shown that he can hit in previous seasons.  I wouldn't mind seeing him moved up to high A and see if he can continue to hit there.

There's also a nice little video attached to that piece Mike linked. Snider has some scary power.
