Which eligible broadcaster should be placed on the final ballot for the 2010 Ford C. Frick Award?

Your chance to answer that question is now available ...

... as online fan voting to choose three candidates for the '10 Frick Award for broadcasting excellence began at 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Dec. 1 on this page of the Hall of Fame's official Facebook site and will conclude at 5 p.m. EST on Dec. 31 (please note, in order to vote, fans must have an account and be logged in to Facebook).

The top three fan selections from votes tallied at the site during December will appear on the final 10-name ballot for the award. The '10 Frick Award winner will be selected by a 20-member electorate, with the winner to be announced in early February.

Fans are allowed to cast votes for the candidates of their choice every day for the entire month of December.

Vote early and often, and come back here to tell us who you voted for and why!

Just for the record, I had second thoughts and changed the original headline on this article, which was "Frick'n Award Nominations Sought"

That is all. Good night from Texas.

As it stands right now there's a clear top 3: Tom at 240 votes, Joe Nuxhall at 214 and Jacques Doucet with 192. Next is Skip Caray with 55.

That doesn't mean we should get complacent. Vote early and often!

It is a travesty and a joke that Cheek has yet to win this award. It is a shame he did not win as a tribute as he was dying of cancer. I (almost) want to give up voting for this yearly disappointment.

Also, this poll is an example of amateur hour as being done through not just facebook, but a facebook application. I avoid FB apps as a rule now after I was involved in programming one and was a little shocked at how much info they can pull from your account -- for example, that poll application could have access to all your photos. This may sound a little "tin-foil hat" but how many out there have received spam on FB from friends? That's all because of application authors abusing the information they collect.

Ballots in previous years were all done more professionally via the mlb/hof site and had the important difference that voters could vote for multiple names per ballot. Last year, I could not help but vote for both Tom & Jerry as the two are burned into my brain as a team. It *still* feels weird not hearing them together on the radio and I am glad I tuned in during Spring Training '05 (IIRC) to hear Tom's last game.

I want Cheek to win but given the way this vote is being conducted, but I think I'll sit this one out.

Just for the record, they are making it VERY clear that the vote totals that show on the page are not current in any way. So don't necessarily go by those numbers!

It reads like they allow just one vote per person to a single broadcaster this year.  Not a bad idea really as the past method was a bit silly and open to massive abuse.  Just imagining a Fergie Oliver push just to drive the HOF up the wall :)

Yesterday I got one telling me to push the button or the dog dies!!! Needless to say, I pushed the button.
