The Vancouver Canadians are the back-to-back-to-back champions of the Northwest League.

Still batting 1.000! The Canadians have won three straight league titles since leaving the Oakland A's and joining the Toronto Blue Jays as an affiliate in 2011.

Note the five errors committed by Boise. However, all five Vancouver runs were earned.

Game 3 - Vancouver 5 Boise 0 (Vancouver wins best-of-three-series 2-1)

Vancouver, BC — Ladner, BC native Tom Robson (1-0) went out on the big stage and delivered! In front of a packed house of 5,157 fans and Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar at Nat Bailey Stadium, Robson pitched a three-hitter over 6 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking no one. He induced 10 of his 16 outs in play on the ground and retired 10 straight hitters. Robson averaged around 91-95 mph with his fastball and his two K's came on curves in the mid-70s. Lefty Alonzo Gonzalez stranded a runner at third for Robson by striking out a pair of hitters. Gonzalez got through the eighth with just one hit. Chuck Ghysels struck out the first two hitters in the ninth before inducing a grounder to short to set off the celebration and ensure the Bob Freitas Cup will stay in Canada for another season.

The C's broke out on top with two runs in the third off Boise starter Michael Wagner. Chaz Frank singled but was forced out on an Andy Fermin fielder's choice for the second out. Mitch Nay kept the rally going with a single to right before Northwest League MVP L.B. Dantzler sent a fly ball over the head of Boise center fielder Kevin Encarnacion to score Fermin and Nay. The Canadians put the game away with three runs in the eighth off Hawks reliever Zack Godley. Dawel Lugo doubled and scored on a Mike Reeves base hit. Justin Atkinson singled Reeves over to second and both of them scored on an Ian Parmley base knock. I guess you could say Godley was creamed! Nay had two hits while Parmley drew a walk to go along with his single.

Gotta think Vancouver is thankful the Jays are their affiliate.  A bit thin on prospects but high on providing enough talent to win year in, year out.  Glad to see a full house came out for the title game on a weeknight.

Great pics #2JB.

I did not want to jinx T Robson by commenting on him before the playoffs ended.

I am always most impressed by results. So Robson & S Dawson had impressive results this year. I then check if the player is old for the league and lastly some sort of scouting report.

Therefore I see these 2 as legitimate prospects by my judgement. More scouting info on their stuff & pitching savy would be appreciated if anyone knows.

I do not know if this pattern is by design or not. Each year a young, v good SP did great, even dominating the league for this team. Year1 J Nicolino & N Syndagaard, Yr 2 R Osuna & this year Robson & Dawson. Some of the promotions to Vancouver are mid or late season so the sample size is often a bit small. But the player was V good in Bluefield and then continued to perform well in Vancouver.

Nice.

What looked like the emptiest team in the system ended up not only being good, but good based on what looks like some legit talent. Partly makes up for the disaster in Lansing this year.

Lansing should be stacked with prospects next year. Mostly of the starting pitching and infield variety.

And Congratulations to the C's, great job by Clayton McCullough and staff.

You can call Clayton McCullough the Cito Gaston of Vancouver after managing the club to the last two NWL titles. It'll be interesting to see where he will go next season along with pitching coach Jim Czajkowski and hitting coach Dave Pano, who were also in Vancouver last year.

I would like to salute the C's organization for providing lots of entertainment from the sushi races to the Men in Drag (the dancing grounds crew) throughout the season. They also brought in Rollie Fingers, Larry Walker, Ernie Whitt and Joe Carter for autograph sessions and I was fortunate enough to meet the latter three. It was also a thrill for the missus and myself to be among the 5,157 fans to witness our first-ever clinching game. As happy as I was with the C's repeating as league champs last year, they won the clincher in Boise. That was a little too far to travel so it was great to see them do it at The Nat.

There's just so many memories and I will try to document it all here in the coming weeks. On a personal note, thanks to those for the positive comments about the photos and recaps this season. It was my pleasure to do it and I look forward to doing it all again starting next June.

Thanks for all the photos and first-hand scouting reports and game updates, #2JB. They were a highlight of the minor league coverage.

If you had 10cc of self-respect you wouldn't resort to such un-Godley puns.

Marc Hulet has some comments on players in the Blue Jay farm system in fangraphs today.  If you missed Ryan Borucki's 6 innings in the GCL this year, Marc will catch you up.
