Mike Ohlman had five RBI on Sunday, Jason Leblebijian had three hits and Cesar Valdez pitched well. Lansing came from behind in the ninth inning to score three runs and win and they did it without much help in that inning from the usual suspects. Dunedin rallied with two runs in the eighth to take a one run lead. Dan Young was unable to hold the lead and the D Jays lost in 12 innings.

Here are your random weekend notes:

TJ House pitched well on Saturday, six shutout innings. But before the recall chatter gets going, did you know that House gave up 23 runs in his previous four starts. House had been in need of repairs, Saturday was his first good start since May 6th. He needs to get his 1.51 WHIP down a little before he is first in line for a recall.

Cesar Valdez could be next in line if a need arises. Valdez went seven innings on Sunday, one earned run allowed on six hits with seven K's. Valdez ERA is 3.38.

Dalton Pompey started his first AAA game of the season on Sunday. He was 1-2 before leaving the game with a leg injury. He injured the leg in the first inning making a defensive play but he didn't leave the game until the third. That two inning "remain time" should mean that Pompey won't miss much time. Pompey will likely need a good bit of time in AAA to get back on track.

The Bisons faced three well known starting pitchers in their weekend games, Carson Fulmer, James Shields and Chris Volstad.

Mike Ohlman had three hits today with five RBI. With Ohlman, Jarod Saltalamacchia and Raffy Lopez the Bisons have three catchers who can hit.

Jason Leblebijian had three hits on Sunday to keep his run going. Ian Parmley hit in all three games going 4-9.

New Hampshire

We have talked a lot this season about the New Hampshire starting pitchers. But the starter who is pitching the best is Chris Rowley. He dominated again on Friday, 7 IP, 3 hits, one run, a solo home run, no walks and 8 K's. His ERA is 1.67 and his WHIP is .8. In a rotation with Conner Greene, Sean Reid-Foley and Jon Harris, who picked Rowley as the leader in stats? Rowley took the loss in this game as the Fisher Cats lost 1-0.

Speaking of starters, Reid-Foley pitched six shutout innings on Saturday. Like Rowley he did not issue a walk and recorded 8 K's. SRF gave up five hits. His last two starts have been his best two of the year, it looks like he is learning.

The Fisher Cats racked up 19 hits on Saturday, a lot of the hitters padded their stats. Richard Urena kept his hit streak alive. In the three games he went 1-4; 1-6; and 1-5. Obviously he is not on fire but he is getting consistent and that's step one.

Jon Harris'fastball is too straight which he is why he is working on a two seamer. On Sunday some of his pitches were too straight, two of them were deposited over the fence. He gave up four runs in five innings.

Danny Jansen had been searching for hits after a fast start in AA. He had a hit on Friday and three more, including two doubles, on Saturday. His stand-in Michael De La Cruz had two doubles on Sunday. Andrew Guillotte continued his hot hitting, he was 5-12 over the three games with his second home run.

Dunedin's bats have gone cold and over the weekend the Jays shuffled the Dunedin and Lansing rosters. Dunedin's hitters had seven hits combined over Friday and Saturday. They did a little better on Sunday with eleven hits. Brad Jones made his debut on Saturday and had an infield single in four trips to the plate. On Sunday he was 1-4 with two walks.

Angel Perdomo was cruising through five innings on Friday night. He was working on a no hitter with two walks allowed. A bunt single broke up the no hitter to lead off the sixth. Another ground ball single was followed by another bunt. Perdomo threw this one away. He managed to get two outs but then single, error, single gave him four runs conceded on four hits. Despite that it was a good start for the big lefty.

Zach Jackson is one of the newly promoted players. Jackson had a rough introduction, he walked the bases loaded while getting two outs. He had to be rescued by the bullpen. Maybe he was over amped for his first appearance. in high A. Jackson McClelland had a better first appearance. He pitched an inning and two thirds with just one hit allowed.

Adonys Cardona was, at one time, a top 30 prospect for the Jays but this year he has totally come off the rails. Cardona has a 9.77 ERA and a WHIP of 2.8.

Jordan Romano and Ryan Borucki had good starts. Romano has lowered his ERA to 2.29, Borucki's is 3.66.

Lansing Rodrigo Orozco got on many people radars when he hit well in Bluefield as a 20 year old in 2015. He moved to Vancouver for 2016 and did not do as well, hitting just .240 without much power. Orozco will take a walk and so he went to the top of the lineup Sunday for his first game. He was hitless until the ninth when he laid down a bunt to bring in the winning run.

Nash Knight had a already played 12 games for Lansing this season before going up to Dunedin. He left comfortable on his return going 2-3 with a walk. Josh Palacios had two hits on Sunday, is it a turning point?

Patrick Murphy didn't give up an earned run through six innings. However he was not as good as that sounds, he did allow nine hits, some of them hit well. Overall Murphy sports a 2.87 ERa and a WHIP of 1.34.

Osman Gutierrez came off the DL to start on Saturday but didn't get out of the second inning, giving up six runs.

Under the obligatory reporting rule, Bo Bichette was 6-14 for the three games, Vlad Jr. was 4-13, no strikeouts.

About 25 starts is a full minor league season. Currently the SPs are at 10 and 11 starts in NH.
They are showing some flashes of dominance, except for Greene and Harris. Greene has the best ERA of the full time SPs. Maybe it is his style of pitching.

So Grilli down, Cesar Valdez up, Coghlan down and Lopez up and Ohlman on 40-men roster?

I think it's just wishcasting instead of actual news. I can't find any such reports from reputable sources.
