Buffalo won and Vancouver did not. New Hampshire did not play due to COVIC complications and Dunedin's game was rained out.

Buffalo 5 Rochester 4

Forrest Wall had a three-hit night, driving in three runs and knocking home what proved to be the winning run in the ninth against the Nationals affiliate. Gregory Polanco also had three hits including a two-run home run. Cullen Large was on base three times with two hits and a walk. Kevin Smith and Richard Ureña had a hit and a walk apiece.

Zach Logue gave up two runs in 5-2/3 innings on four hits, one of them being a home run. He walked nobody, plunked a batter, struck out seven and had five of his eight outs in play on the ground. Dany Jiménez struck out three in 1-1/3 perfect innings to get the win. Jacob Barnes coughed up a run in the eighth and Bryan Baker served up a homer in the ninth but still got the save.

Hillsboro 7 Vancouver 4

The C's will not have a .500 season after losing to the Diamondbacks affiliate. The Hops busted open the game with a four-run fourth against Adam Kloffenstein that included a two-run homer. Kloffenstein went six innings and four of his six runs were earned on six hits and a plunk. He struck out three and racked up a whopping 14 outs on the fake turf. Justin Maese had two shutout frames but Thomas Ruwe coughed up a run in the ninth.

Addison Barger had an RBI single and a double in his debut with Monty's Mounties. Trevor Schwecke had an RBI single and RBI groundout while Zac Cook had a run-scoring fly ball. Harrison Ray was 1-for-4 in his C's debut but P.K. Morris was 0-for-4 with a hit by pitch. Will Robertson had a single. Tanner Morris was 0-for-4 and saw his 36 game on-base streak come to an end.

Trent Palmer just pitched his second no hitter in a month. I still dont know why he is in Dunedin.

I'm guessing the Jays felt it was best to keep him in one place for now - too late to get more than a couple starts elsewhere so why bother. 3.00 ERA, 16 starts, 63 IP, 33 H 42 BB 83 SO 7 HBP. Clearly he has a control issue which he seems to have improved on lately. Just 4 IP per start so his endurance is growing, although the 2 no-no's were complete games (7 inning ones) which suggests he is there. 90 pitches tonight. His last 7 starts (Aug/Sept) 38 2/3 IP, 18 H, 10 R/ER, 0 HR, 4 HBP, 16 BB, 54 SO. 2.33 ERA, WHIP of 0.88, 12.6 K/9, 3.7 BB/9. Yeah, he has improved. I can see why they kept him there for the moment. Give him a historic end to the season and prepare him for A+ or even AA to start next season. Pitchers can go from A+ to the majors over the course of a season if they really get it, but I think the control issue will be a big issue going forward.

I really liked Frasso, and its too bad he is injured.

The 2020 draft seems like we will likely see no players selected make it to the majors for the Jays. I didn’t like the walk rates for Van Eyk and Palmer is college and its carried over to the minor leagues as well.

I do think we will miss Steve Saunder and Ben Cherrington.
