Cade Doughty reminds us that it's very early in the minor league season. He came into the game hitting .211 / .348 / .316 and finished it at .273 / .407 / .546.

Ricky T just hit a bump. In the third he gave up a single, a bunt single, walk, walk, strikeout.

He was pulled and Sean Mellen let all three baserunners score. That pushes his ERA up to five.

I am guessing Schneider won't be asking what he has left to prove in AA tomorrow.

I agree with Gerry. I think this is SSS and I need to be patient.

Gerry, that's the 2nd shot you've taken at Schenider over his innocuous Tiedemann comment. At least this time you didn't misquote him.

From the Toronto Sun: “I don’t know what else he needs to do in Double-A,” Jays manager John Schneider said on Friday night. “We know Rick can pitch and didn’t really expect that first time out.”

That reads to me more like a manager expressing pleasure over a kid's results, and less like a call for pitching help.

92-93, it was done in good humour. I know it was an off hand comment and I wasn't taking a shot at Schneider. I was just repeating it to tell people to slow down. Everyone wants to promote prospects as soon as they have a good week and it takes more than that to get promoted.
