Good to see Sosa back. Also Pardinho is pitching more this year. Pardinho has helped other prospects with learning secondary pitches.

Pinto reached base 4 times yesterday. That's good. But he was caught stealing twice, which means his base stealing efforts were a net negative.

His double was probably the best news. I'm like to know his EVs.

Hey Mike, Pinto can generate solid EVs for his size... It's not unusually to see him in the 90-98 range with some 100+ sprinkled in. He's definitely stronger than some of the other younger middle infielders.

Also Stadler was up to 97 mph but control continues to be an issue. Still, it'll be nice to have another big arm in Buffalo once his rehab is done.

One of the Jays system priorities this season was to be more aggressive on the bases. I have seen a lot of caught stealing and outs on the bases this season.

From a development perspective it helps players understand their abilities and limitations, even if it causes them to be less efficient.

Williams had a terrible April where he hit .185.

In May (13 games) he is .396/467/660 with 6BB/ 10K and 2 SB. He has 5 HR so far.

He did not strike me as athletic in spring training, and is limited to 1B, but is a lefty. Maybe a player from the Rowdy Tellez mould.

" Pinto can generate solid EVs for his size"

I'm not always up on acronyms and was wondering why Pinto was generating electric vehicles. Oh, yeah, it's exit velocity. Duh!

Thanks,Marc. So I was wondering why Pinto had decent EVs, but no demonstrated power. His GB rate this year is 68% and his FB rate is 15%. It's the Ozzie Smith method of hitting.

Pinto is likely strong enough that he can zone in on a pitch to drive in certain counts. That will serve him well later.

Kiley McDaniel (ESPN) lists Venezuelan SS Kennew Blanco (age 15) as one of the five best players in baseball born in 2007. In a bit of positive news for Blue Jays fans, he says Blanco is likely signing with Toronto.
