NOTES
Buffalo entered the seventh and last inning of game one trailing 2-0. With one out Orelvis reached on catchers interference. With two outs, and on a two strike count, down to his last strike, Will Robertson homered to score two and tie the game. Two walks followed the home run, leaving it to Alan Roden to drive in the walk off winning run with a single.
Lazaro Estrada went 5.2 innings, with five K's and one unearned run allowed. Estrada had a 10.93 ERA in April but in five May starts his ERA is 1.85 and his WHIP is 0.99.
Robertson kept it going in game two, he homered again, his fourth in the last four games. He also singled, walked and drove in three runs. As a non 40 man roster player his path to the majors is tough, the Jays have several outfielders who are already on the 40 man who have OK numbers. Among those is Joey Loperfido who singled, doubled and drove in a run.
Devereaux Harrison didn't throw enough strikes, 45 in total and 32 balls. Thats not where you want the ratio to be. He only lasted 3.2 innings and was charged with one run. Michael Dominguez had three shutout innings in relief.
RJ Schreck picked up another two hits.
Vancouver hitters were quiet, just six hits. Jackson Wentworth was hit around a bit, 8 hits total in 5.1 innings, but he held Hillboro to just one run. Pat Gallagher took the loss but it was a two out error by Sean Keys that led to two runs scoring.
The D Jays had just five hits. Javen Coleman took the loss by giving up a couple of runs in the eighth. Coleman had some good outings in April but his May ERA is over 6.
Landen Maroudis made his fifth appearance for the FCL Jays. He went four shutout innings with two K's. Can Dunedin be far away? The one issue is that he is limited to a lower number of pitches, not sure how many but if he could go five innings he should be ready for A ball.
The Jays had a five run seventh inning thanks to a couple of the usual guys. Yorman Licourt doubled with the bases loaded to drive in three and Aldo Gaxiola tripled to score two.
Enmanuel Bonilla had a horrendous start to the season. He was hitting .067 on May 19th. Since then he has a six game hitting streak. He has also walked five times in the last three games and reduced his strikeout rate. It's nothing to get excited about yet but maybe it could lead to something.
