3. Manuel Beltre, Dunedin

2. Cade Doughty, New Hampshire

1. Edward Duran, Dunedin

Notes

Alan Roden and Yohendrick Pinango had two hits apiece. Michael Stefanic, Orelvis Martinez and Christian Bethancourt all doubled. Adam Macko pitched three shutout innings but did not make it out of the fourth, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three.

Jacob Sharp hit his first homer of the season but the Fisher Cats offence was dulled for the most part. Cade Doughty doubled and walked twice, Jackson Hornung had a double and Charles McAdoo walked twice.Grant Rogers allowed just one run over five innings before giving up three in the sixth. He walked one but only struck out one. Grayson Thurman had a spotless seventh.

Victor Arias singled and walked twice at the top of the order and Carter Cunningham doubled and walked at the bottom. Cutter Coffey and Sean Keys had the other base knocks. Arjun Nimmala was 0-for-4 and committed an error. Gage Stanifer was running on empty, giving up five runs on four hits and four walks and struck out two over 2-2/3 innings. Kai Peterson had the best pitching line by stranding two inherited runners and striking out two over 1-2/3 scoreless innings.

Edward Duran had a 3-for-4 night, Manuel Beltre doubled and walked twice and Tucker Toman singled. Sam Shaw was 0-for-4. Landen Maroudis took the loss but gave up one unearned run on one hit, one walk and one hit by pitch. He struck out three.

Enmanuel Bonilla had two hits and Dariel Ramon singled and drew two walks. Yorman Licourt heard ball four once. Eric Pardinho opened the game with a scoreless first, walking one and whiffing one. Luis Quiñones gave up a run on two hits but punched out five in two innings. Sann Omosako surrendered three runs (two earned) in three innings for the loss but did strike out three.

Check the DR, you won’t like it so far other than Elaineiker Coronado singling and walking twice for the Red Jays and José Andrades allowing just one run on three hits over five innings while fanning four without a walk. He would take the loss.

Prospects aren't doing the big club any favors when it comes to boosting their trade values... Chances are pretty good, they'll have to deal from the Yesavage, Stephens, Stanifer, Rojas group for someone of value and/or near-MLB assets like Rodon, Loperfido, Jimenez, Fisher, Clase, Fluharty.

Ross"The Mad King" Atkins: Trade them. trade the all!

I hope they don't need to trade Fisher. He's only 24 and has looked good in the bullpen.

Clase and Jimenez are on their last option. Rojas reminds me of Max Castillo, so a trade here wouldn't be a shock.
Yesavage has been hyped too much to be traded, I think.

I doubt Fisher is going to be traded. He's one of the best relievers on the team right now, and Schneider is starting to use him like he knows it. Orelvis, Jimenez, and Clase are all out of options after this season. A combination, or all, of them being moved is very possible. Roden might be another one (if they make a trade with the Pirates, then it feels like acquiring Roden has Cherington written all over it). If there's a bigger deal for a controllable starter, then that's when the pitching prospects will be more prominent.

As someone very familiar with both Max Castillo and Kendry Rojas - they have no similarities whatsoever. Castillo was a pudgy undersized RHP with a barely average fastball, modest secondaries and above-average control.

Rojas is a lanky lefty with a good pitchers frame, hits 96-97 with his heater and generates whiffs with three pitches. He also has above-average control.

He's the one pitcher I wouldn't deal - the only issue being his injury history but none have been serious arm issues.

Is it time for Duran to be promoted? He hasn’t had his last chance on the stairway.

Parker is blocking him in Vancouver and needs a lot of reps behind the plate to become even passable.

I heard on a broadcast awhile back is that he finally bought into getting his body in proper shape. Something positive is he's getting to work with pitchers from all levels.

Draft still feels wide open but seems like it will likely be one of Parker, Carlson, Willits, Witherspoon, or Arnold. I'd probably prefer one of the prep SS. Willits probably #1 but least likely to be there. Would really like a high school upside guy in round 3 as well.

Jays will have to part with pitching at the trade deadline so I'd go with Witherspoon... Arnold's ceiling sounds lower to me with just two weapons - the key part being he's left-handed. Witherspoon has better velo and more weapons.

Jays haven't done well developing hitters at all and their Rookie staff/development doesnt impress me. I'm fine with Willits, if he falls, but Carlson is just meh for me.

Couple of Mock Drafts
Baseball America
8. Blue Jays — JoJo Parker, SS, Purvis (Miss.) HS
I’d assume the Blue Jays are interested in each of the top college pitchers who have a chance to get here. In descending order of likelihood to make it here I would put it: Liam Doyle, Jamie Arnold and Kyson Witherspoon. If the Blue Jays want to go for a hitter—and it feels like that could be the case—I would guess Parker is the pick in this situation. They had a ton of buzz with Parker in our last mock, and that has dissipated. This does feel like it’s the floor or close to it if Arquette is still around, but he seems unlikely to be. Ike Irish could also make sense as the best college bat on the board. It feels like shortstops Steele Hall and Kayson Cunningham could be options here as backups or on deals—and the same might be true of Tyler Bremner.

Just Baseball
8. Toronto Blue Jays – SS/3B JoJo Parker, Purvis HS
Slot Value: $6,813,600
The recent steam surrounding the Blue Jays has been prep shortstops. Carlson/Parker have, once again, been linked here, and with Carlson gone, Parker is the selection in this mock. Role reversal between the two is possible, plus I wouldn’t be shocked to see Toronto dive into the college pitching side if both are gone.

Drafting a shortstop might make sense if Nimmala is being offered up as trade bait (he is from Florida which might make him a little more appealing to the Marlins).
