NOTES

Jon Clase led off the Buffalo first inning with a home run. Brandon Valenzuela, who has been hitting better than I expected, doubled in run number two in the third. The big blast was a three run home run from Josh Rivera in the fifth inning. At that stage Buffalo led 5-1 and were in control until Hayden Juenger and Paxton Schultz made it close in the eighth inning.

Easton Lucas was the starter but was unable to get through five innings. He did throw 4.1 with six K's.

Victor Arias hit a sac fly almost to the warning track in the tenth inning to score the winning run. Earlier Alex De Jesus had hit a solo home run and Dasan Brown had an RBI triple. The Fisher Cats had five hits in the game.

Rafael Sanchez had to face the Binghamton hitters for the second time this week. On Tuesday he was charged with four runs in four innings so expectation for Sunday were low. But he surprised by going five shutout innings, two hits, no walks, six K's.

JR Freethy, who reached base six times yesterday, singled to start the game. Three walks followed and the C's led 1-0. Nick Goodwin homered leading off the third inning. Carter Cunningham then created a run with a double, a steal and scoring on a throwing error by the catcher. A Tucker Toman double and a walk put two on for Matt Scannell to drive one out of the park for a three run home run, 6-0 Vancouver.

Jackson Wentworth versus Spokane on Tuesday, five innings, no runs, one hit. Wentworth versus Spokane on Sunday, six innings, one run, five hits. That's a good weeks work.

The D Jays made four errors leading to two unearned runs and that was the margin of the loss. Hayden Wilkerson was the starter and just lasted 3.1 innings.

David Beckles went 3-4 with a double to lead the offense. Yeuni Munoz drove in two runs with a single but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.
