NOTES

Grant Rogers started to break the 3 day streak of rehabbers. But it wasn't any better. Rogers gave up five runs in 4.2 innings. Lazaro Estrada did pitch in relief and he threw three perfect innings.

Buffalo had six hits, Josh Rivera had three (or half of the total) with a double and a home run. Willie McIvor also homered.

New Hampshire have been hitting well this season but not on Sunday. A Jay Harry double in the fifth inning was their only hit.

If you are a regular reader you know Gage Stanifer has had command trouble this season walking too many hitters. The thing is when you try not to walk hitters you sometimes throw the ball down the middle of the plate. Stanifer did that twice on Sunday and those two home runs cost him three runs. He was done after four innings. New signing Beau Philip who, thanks to the bauxites is now a pitcher, threw a perfect inning.

Landen Maroudis came back from Tommy John surgery in the middle of last season. He didn't pitch well then but he was given the benefit of the doubt as he was recovering. After a promising start to the season when he had a 1.69 ERA in April, his May ERA ballooned to 9.50. June has not been any better, on Sunday he didn't get out of the third inning with four runs allowed.

The C's had seven hits. Jacob Sharp had the only extra base hit, a home run. Peyton Williams and Brennan Orf had two hits each.

Silvano Hechavarria is the opposite of Maroudis. Hech had a terrible May, a 10.64 ERA but now he seems to be getting better. He went five innings on Sunday, five K's and one run conceded on three hits.

Jake Cook doubled and tripled, scored and drove in a run. Adam Hackenberg also had two hits. Blaine Bullard and Juan Sanchez each had a hit, Jojo Parker did not.
