NOTES

Grant Rogers wasn't at his best, Scranton took him deep three times among their nine hits. That led to four runs in 5.2 innings. Brendan Celucci and Chase Lee added two more each and Brandon Little one.

Meanwhile the Bisons were finding it tough to get some runs. Willie MacIvor and Ismael Munguia doubled back to back in the second inning for the only run but the Bisons had eight hits total. Jay Harry singled twice, doubled and walked in five trips to the plate. His OPS now is an even 1.000.

In NH Jackson Wentworth also had three home runs hit off him. Like Rogers he gave up nine hits. Portland scored five off him and two off the relievers.

The Fisher Cats did score five runs. Eddie Micheletti was the star early on. He hit a two run home run in the second inning and added a sac fly in the third. Cade Doughty drove in the other two runs, one with a double and the other with a ground out. Dub Gleed was the only hitter with two hits.

Vancouver built a 3-0 lead before losing 4-3. Jake Casey hit a two run home run in the first inning. JR Freethy had doubled before the home run. Freethy singled in the third run in the second inning. Silvano Hechavarria retired the first nine hitters in order but second time through was a different story. In the fourth a walk, single and double made it a 3-2 game. Then in the sixth a walk and a home run made it 4-3. A Freethy single was the only hit for the C's in the four innings after they lost the lead. Freethy's three hits accounted for half of the C's six hits.

Lakeland and Dunedin combined for three hits and one run before the game was suspended at the start of the fifth inning. Carson Messina started for Vancouver and went 3.1 innings, 53 pitches. The run off him was unearned, he gave up one hit, one walk and three K's. Messina mixed six pitches, had a FB averaging 94 mph, and had three whiffs.

The FCL game was also suspended with the Jays up 4-0 in the top of the fifth. The Jays had two big hits, Alex Arias doubled in two in the third inning with a third run scoring on an error in the play. Reynel Campos tripled in a run in the fourth.

Angel Rivero threw four shutout innings with three K's.

Gerry mentioned Harry's awful 4:1 K:BB ratio on the season a couple of days ago. However -

NH: 7 BB, 42 K
Buffalo: 7 BB, 18 K.

Sam Shaw seems brittle.

With Parker on the IL, Adam Hackenberg has been promoted from Dunedin. Hackenberg has experience and shouldn't really have been in A ball.

3rd IL placement for Shaw the past 2 seasons including the one that stretched from last year into early this year.

Too bad about Shaw. It’s been thin gruel in Vancouver for position player prospect watching this year. Maybe the thinnest ever? After Shaw I guess Casey is the closest thing to a prospect in the position ranks. Get well soon Sam!

Both Nimmala and Parker left games today. I hope nothing serious either way.
Anyone hear anything?

Parker didn't leave. He played yesterday and just replaced him for the delayed game. My guess is maybe he had to go to Future's game?

72 Jays minor leaguers have had 100 PA's so far. Which of those 72 has the highest wRC+ on the season?

Hedbert's wRC+ is inflated because he raked in rehab, but even his AA numbers have him the highest. Yet I can't remember the last time anyone commented on him. He's like the invisible prospect.
