Buffalo scored four runs in the ninth inning to break a 3-3 tie. The inning started with two walks. Eloy Jimenez, Josh Rivera and Josh Kasevich had RBI singles to make it 7-3. Earlier Jevon Ward and Yohendrick Pinango had homered. Ward and Charles McAdoo had two hits each.
Chad Dallas started but was limited to 60 pitches. Those pitches got him through 4.1 innings and one run allowed. Matt Olson, just promoted from AA, pitched 3.2 innings and got the win, allowing just two runs.
NH had just three hits, Arjun Nimmala had the only extra base hit, a double.
Nolan Perry started coming off his futures game appearance. In the second inning the hitter hit a ball back up the middle that hit Perry in the head. The ball bounced off Perry to third, showing it mist have been a direct hit. It was hard to see on the TV broadcast and of course there were no replays shown. Perry left the game, he never lost consciousness. Will he make his next start? He probably needs to go through a concussion protocol and maybe he might have a few headaches. One of the relievers used was usual starter Danny Thompson Jr. who threw 4.2 innings in relief with six K's. His error on a pickoff led to the only run he allowed.
Three solo home runs accounted for all the scoring in the Vancouver game. Newly acquired Ryan Sprock hit his first home run as part of the Jays organization in the third inning. It followed his double in the first inning. And that was all the scoring and half the hits for the C's.
Landen Maroudis had an excellent start. He went five innings and struck out seven. Tri-City had three hits and one run off him.
