The Jays are now two games back with nine to play. Do they need to go 7-2, or would 6-3 do it? How about 8-1? Winning the series in Texas would mean there is only one team ahead of the Jays. And the Jays have Dylan Cease and Jose Soriano going in game sone and two. The Rangers have Jacob De Grom in game three so it is vital that the Jays win the first two games.
SCHEDULE
Friday: Cease vs Rocker
Saturday: Soriano vs Quantrill
Sunday: TBD vs De Grom
The Jays Sunday TBD could be a bullpen game. It could also be a Trey Yesavage start although that would turn into a bullpen game.
Reports this morning say that recently acquired Jose Rodriguez is being called up by the Jays. Rodriguez has pitched in three games for Buffalo and has an 8.10 ERA and a 2.40 WHIP. So maybe he wont be the saviour.
As always the Jays need their offense to show up to propel them to the playoffs.
