This is just a thread to discuss Cheer Club plans for the LA and Arizona homestand. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make any games this series, but someone will surely step up to lead this little group of wilful men.

Are the Lillys going to make it out to his start tonight? The drum? Who will show up?

Myself, I'm likely going tonight, missing tomorrow and Thursday is undecided as of yet. But I'm not really a leader when it comes to this stuff.

Is cheer club open to everyone?
I've only been reading for a bit, but I'm an avid attendent at the game (cheering all by my lonesome is section 524B)

Absolutely! The more, the merrier!

By Lillys I meant our wonderful Teddy K signs. I think Alex has them?
Craig B - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 10:09 AM EDT (#58242) #
Cheer Club is for EVERYONE.
Thomas - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 10:11 AM EDT (#58243) #
Except Yankee fans.

Hello from the road!

Alex has the Teddy Ks and is a hardcore Cheer Clubber, so I imagine he'll be there.

And Yankees fans who, say, are in town during a Boston matchup and want to join the Cheer Club against the Red Sox are welcome. ;)

Plans have changed ever so slightly -- there is a tiny little chance that I might be able to come to the Saturday game, depending on when we leave Boston and how long the car ride is.

See you guys in 518 if I make it back in time.

If all goes well, I'll be attending my very first Cheer Club gathering tonight -- although, having spent the last four days talking my jaw off to lawyers and journalists, I may not be the loudest participant. See y'all in 518.

I'm coming out of a tough period at work, so I gotta get back in the groove. I'll definitely be there for Thursday's game. How many RSVPs do I have? Of course, everyone welcome.

Go Jays Go!

We need a chant fo Shawn Green...
_Eve - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 02:02 PM EDT (#58247) #
So pumped for Shawn Green!!!
Conflict of interest though, considering he is the opposition
Will also be my first cheer club (officially, cause i came out with a friend last week)
Hopefully will make it out by at least the fifth inning

Hey Boys and Gals.

I wanted to try for all three LA games but I'm gunna have to pass on tonights game. I'll be up in 518 with the drum on Wednesday. See you there. PS, if you're lookin' for me... I'm the guy with the drum.

Brumfeld. Call me if you're interested in Wednesday...

I'll be there on Thursday for the whole shebang.

I'll try to swing by late on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. God Bless the Torstar Season Pass...

Count me in with the K's and a BRAND NEW ROLL of duct tape. I'll be studying physics, but I'll be there. Given the usual characterization of the Dome atmosphere as a library during exams...

As always, me, THE HAMMER and THE HENTGEN and my LOSER FRIENDS will see you in 518.
Thomas - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 04:08 PM EDT (#58252) #
What about your loser principal?
_Jobu - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 04:32 PM EDT (#58253) #
I dont have a loser principal anymore, I guess technicaly I could invite my loser dean, but I doubt they'd go.
Craig B - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 05:06 PM EDT (#58254) #
Lousy dean! We'll prank you good!
_Anders - Tuesday, June 08 2004 @ 10:26 PM EDT (#58255) #
Alas, I am unable to make it anytime soon as I am in a play of all things. The arts, oh how they beckon.

Good results for the first night. Im gonna aim for Sunday against Arizona. Hoorah.

The abscence of NFH and/or the O-Drum could be felt in the cheer club tonight. But Nomo's kooky windup, seeing my first ever live sporting event streaker, big jay win, and not seeing my crusty old dean made for a great evening.

Aside from my two "H" bag of cheer club propaganda... i mean props, tonight was also the debut of a THIRD "H" which seemed to do wonders for the pitching.

The Jobu Cheer Club Triple H Bag - o - Tricks now consists of

The Hammer The Hentgen and The Henke

The Henke being a commerative pin from 1991 of The Henke, which I found in an old drawer this morning.

Alas, neither I or the bag-o-H's will be at wednesdays game, but the rest of the interleauge games look A-OK. So cheer extra loud for me and keep an eye out for streakers or that CRUSTY OLD DEAN!!!

"Hey Dean. You're a stupidhead"

I'm not feeling any love for 518 from the TSN crew. The last Rogers home telecast the Cheer Club and their crazy antics were shown repeatedly. Hopefully, they'll come around soon since they are carrying the games until Friday.
_Jobu - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 01:43 AM EDT (#58258) #
To be quite honest, there wasnt much to show of the Cheer Club tonight aside from the Teddy K's. That and I'm pretty sure the Dean has some powerful friends in the control booth and told them to keep the camera off those drunken frat boys of Cheer Club House.
_Matt - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 02:56 AM EDT (#58259) #
One day... when you guys really get bored... you should have like a cheer cult where you all show up in robes and bow down in worhsip to the strikeouts....

maybe set up some sort of makeshift alter to sacrifice a toy oriole or something while the O drum's rythmic beats mark each step towards the toy oriole's untimely fate....
_Jobu - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 11:11 AM EDT (#58260) #
Yeah, that would really cheese off the crusty old dean.

I'm bringing a bachelor party on Saturday.
I told the best man to make sure he got tickets in 518, as that's where the fun is.
Thomas - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 03:10 PM EDT (#58262) #
It's funny how one Simpsons reference spawns another completely different one.

See you cats thursday night.
_Jobu - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 03:20 PM EDT (#58264) #
And to think all this Dean talk actually began with a referance to a principal. No matter, "Dean" now has offical Cheer Club meaning which you can find in today's roundup.
_Alex - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 03:41 PM EDT (#58265) #
Looks like there's going to be a smaller group today backing up the drum, but I'll be there.

No need for duct tape tonight, right?
_Jobu - Wednesday, June 09 2004 @ 03:49 PM EDT (#58266) #
Damn, I should have entrusted one of the Three H's to a fellow Cheer Clubber yesterday! Okay, they'll be there the next games, so dont let that crusty old dean have his way and cheer extra loud.

I'm not the only one!

Man, I miss being at the games. See you next homestand, or Saturday against the D-backs if I'm really lucky.
Thomas - Thursday, June 10 2004 @ 08:20 AM EDT (#58268) #
Who's coming out today? Is BD bringnig along the drum? Any going-ons from yesterday to report?
_Jobu - Thursday, June 10 2004 @ 01:31 PM EDT (#58269) #
Argh matey, I too wish too know if the drum be there on this fine salty Thursday night.

If it is, I'll bring the Three H's and a small broom.
Thomas - Thursday, June 10 2004 @ 03:31 PM EDT (#58270) #
Menechino will be starting I think.....and only a fool (or a manager who wants to rest his starting catcher) would sit Zaun.

I'll post nice and early, in fact as you can tell from my post time i should probably be in bed right now so i'll be brief.

Who is going to Friday's game and whats the status of the mighty O-Drum?
Named For Hank - Friday, June 11 2004 @ 08:47 AM EDT (#58272) #
I won't be there tonight, but I'll be listening on the car radio on the drive home from Boston.
Named For Hank - Saturday, June 12 2004 @ 01:53 PM EDT (#58273) #
Surprise! I'm back home early and I'll be at the game this afternoon. I'm going to write up my Fenway experience, but I'll give you one piece of advice right now: do not eat a Fenway foot long. Do not. I have one of them cast iron stomachs, but the Fenway foot long turned the next day's seven hour drive into a ten hour drive with frequent stops.
_Jobu - Sunday, June 13 2004 @ 11:19 AM EDT (#58274) #
