There was some confusion about what was going on with the Jays recent roster moves, but it seems to be cleared up. One of my favourite websites, Rotoworld, has announced that "Blue Jays sent outfielder Simon Pond outright to Triple-A Syracuse. Pond, removed from the 40-man roster to make room for David Bush, was able to make it through waivers."

In total we had the following moves:
  1. David Bush added to both the 25 and 40 man rosters
  2. Mike Nakamura taken off of the 25 but not the 40 man roster
  3. Simon Pond taken off of the 40 man roster (he was not on the 25 man)

Is that clear? What are your thoughts?

makes sense. good move, i forgot about pond - but that was a pretty safe move. now who's going to come off the 25 to make room for delgado's fat a$$. it's gotta be another pitcher. probably file or peterson. anybody else have some ideas.

Makes sense to me. I like this move better than DFA'ing Harper.

ok, so i just read an article in the star about delgado actually standing up (or not standing, as the case may be) for his country against the american Navy and now i feel bad for calling him fat a$$. I take it back, he may not stand up for himself on the feild, but I respect him for speaking out against the americans. Way to go delgado, maybe you do have a pair after all.
for those of you who haven't read it, COMN, check out the star sports page (yeah, can you beleive it, the star actually wrote a column worth reading).

That article would have been great if it had bothered to tell the other half of the story - like the strategic value of Vieques for naval maneuvers, or like the fact that depleted uranium weapons don't cause cancer. But hey, here's a story that casts the US in a bad light, let's run it!

Grr.. Hey Batter's Box Guys...

If you ever think about upgrading to a decent "engine" go for it...

While I have total respect for how much work it is to maintain the content on a site like this, I'd love to see a "forum engine" that has a couple features.
1) a Search that returns "most recent first"
2) reorders threads so that the most recent posts are at the top of the list.
3) includes a little "tag line" with the owner and time/date of the last post.
4) has those cool "Flaming folders" for hot threads etc...

an example of someone running one of these systems is the Raptors Blog @ http://www.raptorblog.com/forum/

another is at http://www.rbua.org/board/

these sorts of forums engines are readily available all over the place (http://www.phpbuilder.com/) for example

other than that, thanks for all the effort that the "volunteers" are putting in!

Send Peterson down to AAA and give him some more seasoning. He is not ready for the MLs yet. Bring him back up when the rosters expand and give him another taste of the majors.

Plus, I have non-refundable plane tix to Toronto for the July 9th-12th series with a few of my buddies to see File!!

Daryn,

Things like that are in the pipeline. We're not going to use "Forum" software, because this isn't a forum, so "flaming folders" will not be a part of it. Putting newest at top will be a preference for you to set, and won't be the default (it spoils the chronological order). We are, though, evaluating different software.

Hey Joe, that's cool...

my opinions are just that...

one problem I have, is if you go back a little and make a comment, there is no assurance that anyone will see it and respond..
(this one is an example)
