They are under way in Houston, with a leadoff double by Ichiro off Clemens.

Pudge wasn't fooled either, blasting an RBI triple to right that nearly left the yard. 1-0, AL.

Glad I picked Manny for MVP :)

Is Piazza channeling Crash Davis and telling the hitters what's coming ?

Muhammad Ali still has the best jab in the heavyweight division. He's still the Greatest.

An embarrassment for the hometown players, as Rocket's been destroyed and Kent muffed an easy play. The rout is on, 6-0 after a 3-run shot by Soriano.

Do you suppose Piazza has found a way to mete out his revenge on Clemens?

Pssst, Pudge, fastball low and away. Pssst, Manny, slider in. Pssst, Alfonso, fastball down.

Tim McCarver jinxed me now :)

In the car on the way home I was shouting "Clemmmmmmmonnnnnnnssssss, Clemmmmmmmmonnnnnnnsss."

Just when you thought Fox couldn't do anything else to desecrate baseball...say hello to Scooter, the talking baseball.

Scooter is needed to make Tim McCarver look competent.

Sorry I haven't been paying attention, I've been doing a chat.

I think the NL is going to come back, like Rawjah does...

After two jam shot hits, Lilly did a great job to strand the runners right there. Way to represent!

It ended 9-4, the last part of the game was such a snoozefest that I didn't even realise the game was over until they were handing Soriano the MVP trophy.

And the MVP Contest Wienner is Paul D hehehe.. .

Oh CR*P, I mean The Original Ryan who beat Paul D to the punch and screwed me up too

That was not much of a game. The highlight, for me, was right after the national anthem, when the public address announcer intoned, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Faaaannn-taaaaasiaaaaa!"

For half a second, I thought I was at the Brass Rail.

This has truly been a horrible all-star weekend. First I go and pick Sam Bowie, err, Vladdy right before Soriano is taken. Then I pick Cookie monster to win the Derby just before realizing how left-handed he is. Finally, I pull an all-nighter (I just finished) to catch up on all the stuff I put off only to check my e-mail and find that my deadline's been pushed back.

At least Teddy Roosevelt showed up strong.

Perhaps she should consider a career change; her singing was not good.

Who is she, anyway? Someone on the THT chat asked but I never saw an answer. I've never heard of this person, and I thought I knew most music these days.

She's the reigning American Idol winner, I believe. Nice of Fox to use every opportunity to sully the game by promoting its own programming, as it did again by having American Idol II champ Ruben Studdard sing God Bless America (I hope Delgado was out of the room during the seventh-inning stretch!)
