Ron Santo is on the ballot? He's perhaps the worst announcer I've ever heard, how does he get nominated? Tom Cheek is in a whole different category. He is eloquent and can describe what he sees in a memorable way. Santo was a fine ballplayer, but on the air, he's more of a bumbling idiot.

My reaction was that Cubs fans were trying to compensate for his inability to get voted into the Hall of Fame. That's the only reason I can think of.

Interesting to see that Tony Kubek is there too. So an active Jay broadcaster and a former one on the ballot. I'm cheering for Tom Cheek, but it is nice to see that whoever put together the rest of the list feels the Jays have been well served over the years on the air.
Btw, anyone else surprised the vote total was only in the 7000 range? I know I tossed a lot of ballots Tom's way, and I'm sure many others did too. Guess too few knew how to get there to vote, which was probably a good thing since he did make the ballot.
