The affiliates were 2-2 last night with both wins coming in A ball.

And yes, that is a lame title.

Buffalo 11 @ Syracuse 5

This was an ugly one. Ismael Ramirez got the start and gave up 5 runs (4 earned) over 5 innings. He gave up 7 hits, including 2 homers, and 2 walks while striking out no Bison. Ramirez has struggled to begin the year in AAA. His ERA is now 7.13 with a 7/13 K/BB ratio. A move to the bullpen might be in his future (although that's purely speculation on my part).

At the plate JFG hit a HR for the Chiefs. He's off to a decent start to the season at .264/.365/.528. Ray Olmedo had 3 hits, including a double. The double was Olmedo's first extra base hit of the season to go with 21 singles.

New Hampshire 1 @ Trenton 5

Mike MacDonald had an interesting start. He gave up 3 runs (2 earned) over 4 innings. But he gave up 8 hits and 5 walks, striking out none. It seems that he didn't have his usually control last night, but was able to keep the big numbers off the scoreboard.

Sergio Santos had the lone extra base hit for the Fisher Cats - a double. Santos has cooled off a bit after his hot streak - he's just 2 for his last 16.

Dunedin 6 @ Tampa 3 (10 Innings)

The D-Jays held a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the ninth. Sidearmer Connor Falkenbach gave up 3 runs for the blown save, but pitched a scoreless 10th to get the win. Russ Savickas pitched 7 scoreless innings yielding just 2 hits and a walk while striking out 4. Savickas has a low ERA at 2.56, but he's only struck out 19 in 31.2 innings.

Anthony Hatch, who seems to be playing 2B a lot recently, had two hits. Josh Kreuzer was 3-5 with all 3 hits going for doubles. Ryan Patterson played his second game since coming back from his spring training injury.

Lansing 4 at Burlington 2

Lansing had 10 hits on the night, but Josh Bell was the only one to collect 2 hits on the night.  Scott Campbell hit a HR for the Nuts.

Adrian Martin got his first start of the season and went 4 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 3.  Ben Harrison picked up where Martin left off pitching 2.2 scoreless innings.  Seth Overbey struck out 4 to get the two inning save.  Overbey's ERA still sits at 0.00 after 14.2 innings.

3 Starts
3 - Seth Overbey
2 - Josh Kreuzer
1 - Russ Savickas

Both Syracuse and New Hampshire have the dreaded early starts today.  Josh Scobie gets the ball for Syracuse against Andrew Miiler (Cleveland's version), while Kyle Yates toes the rubber for the Fisher Cats.

With McGowan's promotion and Roney's suspension, has there been any promotions from AA rumoured??  Purcey perhaps?

John Thompson will make McGowans next start per Matt Michael.  No toher news.

Anthony Hatch is playing a lot of second base because Carlo Cota was promoted to Syracuse for injury coverage.

Bad news on the farm today.........

Syracuse lost today to Buffalo by a score of 7-5.  They scored 2 in the 9th and Curtis Thigpen was up with runners at 1st and 2nd before he fouled out to end the game.

New Hampshire also lost, falling to Trenton 3-2.  According to nhfishercats.com - John Schneider did his best Pudge imitation by throwing out 3 runners and belting a homer.
