I pulled this out of the Yankees Games Notes.

Coming into this season, there were six players with 10 years of major league experience who had never spent time on the Disabled List. Two of them were Yankees - Johnny Damon and Jorge Posada - and both of them went on the DL for the first time this season. So did Andruw Jones of the Dodgers.

Three still standing!

And none of them are Blue Jays - as best as I can tell, Marco Scutaro is the Jay with the most ML service (4 plus years coming into 2008) who has never visited the DL.

Greg Maddux, Junior Griffey and... Eric Milton?

No, no, and no (gosh Griffey's been on the DL enough times for five or six guys.)

First hint: Which position(s) would you not expect these guys to play? And then... prepare to be astonished!

Maddux was actually a serious answer I was pretty sure I was right on.

Omar Vizquel, Tom Glavine, and Junior Griffey

I'm pretty sure Tom Glavine hadn't been on the DL before this year, but he went on the DL in May.    Did the notes miss him or am I missing something?

I can't remember if Miguel Tejada has or not, but he had that long games streak so I'll guess him.

Geez, who else? Bengie Molina? Mark Buehrle?

Rob - Wednesday, August 20 2008 @ 11:57 PM EDT (#191010) #
You do know Griffey's no longer a Mariner, right?

Glavine has to be right. Other than that, I have no idea. Ignoring Magpie's hint entirely, how about Shawn Green?
Magpie - Wednesday, August 20 2008 @ 11:59 PM EDT (#191011) #
I remember Tejada's streak getting broken, along with his wrist. Buehrle doesn't have 10 years. Bengie isn't one of the names - looks like 2001 or 2004 he may have gone on the shelf.

Three guys all in the NL. One catcher, two pitchers.

Glavine's not on the list, and he went on the DL this year anyway.

All three players have spent time in the AL, but they're in the NL now.

But Glavine definitely should have been on the list. Hmmm. Not wild about the crack research team working for the Yankees.

Jeez, Buehrle only has 7 years of service.  It feels like he's been around forever.

Catcher in the NL . . . Ausmus??
Pitchers ... geez, I don't know.  David Weathers and Jamie Moyer.

How about Brad Ausmus?

Ack. King Ryan beat me to the punch while I was (slowly) posting.
King Ryan - Thursday, August 21 2008 @ 12:14 AM EDT (#191019) #
No ... Livan Hernandez!
Magpie - Thursday, August 21 2008 @ 12:26 AM EDT (#191022) #
Brad Ausmus! Livan Hernandez!

One more...

Jon Lieber?  He might be on the DL right now though.  Jeff Suppan I think had a long streak but maybe he went on this year too.   Doesn't stop me from posting his name though.  Derek Lowe?
Magpie - Thursday, August 21 2008 @ 12:42 AM EDT (#191024) #
The last name mentioned! Yes!
The_Game - Thursday, August 21 2008 @ 01:27 AM EDT (#191027) #

Derek Lowe is a free agent the Jays should target.
