As quickly as it began, it was over. With Dunedin eliminated last night, Lansing followed suit tonight as the young hitters were never able to muster up much of an offensive.

Dayton 7 Lansing 3 (Loses playoff series 0-2)

Luis Perez had a passable night, allowing four runs in 5.1 innings, on six hits and two walks. He also struck out nine batters. The bullpen fell apart as Edgar Estanga allowed a run and Joe Wice allowed two. Tim Collins pitched a scoreless final frame. Offensively, Jonathan Jaspe and Kevin Ahrens had two hits a piece. Justin Jackson, Jonathan Baksh, Moises Sierra and John Tolisano each had one hit. Sierra drove in two in the losing effort. Eric Eiland was 0-for-4 at the top of the order with three strikeouts.

State College 3 Auburn 2 (third last regular season game)

Joel Carreno finished off his season with a nice start, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in six innings. He also struck out six batters. Jared Potts allowed one run in two innings. State College made the most of its three total hits. Offensively, Bartolo Nicolas had three hits, while Joel Collins and Hopkins had two a piece. Adam Amar was 0-for-4 with an RBI and a strikeout.

Three Stars:
3. Jonathan Jaspe for two hits
2. Joel Carreno for six nice innings
1. Bartolo Nicolas for a 3-for-5 night

Sad to see Lansing's season end on a losing note. Good to see Tim Collins get the last 3 outs for them though. 1 IP with 1 SO. Lets hope the little playoff exposure all the guys on that team got will help them going into next season. There is nothing like playoff pressure.
