Auburn 3 Mahoning Valley 2 - 6 innings
Auburn got on the board in the first inning, with one out Chris Hopkins singled and Brian Van Kirk doubled him home. Josh Wells has been pitching well recently but didn't have his best stuff in this game. In the bottom of the first Wells gave up a run on three singles. Wells put a couple of runners on in the second and was pulled after three innings. I the top of the fifth the Doubledays loaded the bases on three walks, Hopkins then hit a sac fly and Van Kirk singled in another to make it 3-1. However the Scrappers got one back in the bottom of the fifth, an unearned run on Leance Soto's second error of the night. In the seventh the Doubledays had runners on second and third with one out when the rain started and the game was called early.
