For those that missed it, there have now been 249,996 HRs hit in MLB history after Delgado's 2 HRs last night.

Sometime early tonight HR #250,000 will likely be hit.  Here's a list of the players that hit the previous milestones.

Predict who it will be!

I'll take Miguel Cabrera.

Since he's the second coming of Christ, I'm going with Travis Snider.
Schad - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 01:26 PM EDT (#192090) #
I'll take Grady Sizemore in the third inning of the Indians/Orioles game, off of Garrett Olsen.
Magpie - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 01:31 PM EDT (#192091) #
There are four games starting at 7:05 EST: Cleveland at Baltimore, Tampa Bay at Boston, Oakland at Detroit, and Florida at Philadelphia.

Anibal Sanchez of the Marlins has allowed 6 HR in 37 IP, and he's starting at Citizens Bank? OK - I'll say Ryan Howard, in his second AB of the night.

Nolan - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 01:36 PM EDT (#192093) #
I'll go with Rocco Baldelli against Jon Lester.

Going darkhorse, it will be Johnny Mac!

Its never the big name you'd expect.  I'm gonna go with Jhonny Peralta. He's due, and he's facing Garrett Olsen.
Mike Green - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 01:50 PM EDT (#192097) #
Ken Griffey Jr. off Dave Bush.

Ack, KGJr. off AJ.  Brain cramp.
Gerry - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 02:18 PM EDT (#192099) #
Kevin Youkilis is the obvious choice, Daric Barton the obscure one.

The list of pitchers who have given up the milestone dingers (D. Martinez, Sutcliffe, Viola, Sutter, Jenkins, Kinder, M. Brown) is generally more imprssive than the best of the list of those who actually hit them (R. Barnes, N. Williamson, Tinker, Pipp, Mize, Doby, Gant, Galarraga, P. O'Neill, Dye). Not sure if that means anything, but it's kinda interesting.

Giambi tonight against Garland. Don't want it to happen but that's what I can see happening.
Alex0888 - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 03:06 PM EDT (#192103) #
Nope, thought the game was in NY.

In that case, McLouth off Arias.

Rob - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 04:09 PM EDT (#192106) #
Jason Michaels off Alberto Arias.
Dave Rutt - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 05:21 PM EDT (#192110) #
Put me down for Daaaaaan Uggla against Joe Blanton.
Alex Obal - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 05:21 PM EDT (#192111) #
Rod Barajas off Javier Vazquez.
seeyou - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 05:43 PM EDT (#192114) #
I'll go with a deep dark horse and say that Greg Maddux hits the HR against Cha Seung Baek.  Because that would be cool.
Mike T - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 05:47 PM EDT (#192115) #
Polanco off Gio
Mylegacy - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 06:17 PM EDT (#192116) #
Zaun off the bench in the 13th at the Cell!
Alex Obal - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 06:46 PM EDT (#192120) #
Oh gosh we got rained out. I'm amending my pick to Matt Stairs off Anibal Sanchez.
peiscooter - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 07:11 PM EDT (#192123) #

Well, I have to go with the first name I thought of.

RYAN HOWARD.

Dave Rutt - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 07:26 PM EDT (#192124) #
Jason Bay homers; 3 to go.
Dave Rutt - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 07:40 PM EDT (#192125) #
Mags and Sheff homer - one more!
Magpie - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 07:44 PM EDT (#192126) #
I would have liked to pick Stairs, but I never expected him to be in the starting lineup.

C'mon Matty!

Magpie - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 07:59 PM EDT (#192127) #
Hey! Why don't you let Sanchez pitch to Howard?

It's only the second inning...

Magpie - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 08:02 PM EDT (#192128) #
Sheff!

Howard settled for an RBI single.
Moe - Monday, September 08 2008 @ 08:06 PM EDT (#192129) #
Interesting: mlb.com does not mention this milestone.
I don't like the Red Sox (obviously), but there attendance streak is pretty impressive. It would be something if no 250k were hit there today.
