Mike MacDonald gave the 5,354 Cashman Field fans a real solid old fashion complete game pitching performance Saturday night.  In his complete game (nine innings for those who have forgotten) Mac the Mighty threw 62 strikes in 85 pitches, striking out 7, allowing  only 2 hits and no runs.  Las Vegas bats helped out with 7 runs on 9 hits and only 1 miscue in the field, a fielding error by David Cooper (2 for 4, 2B, 2 RBIs).

Danny Perales (1 for 3, 2 RBIs) joined Cooper turning in a 23 RBI game.  Multi hit performances were delivered by slugging Eric Thames (2 for 4, 2B, 3B, 2 R), Cooper, and doubling Ryan Shealy (2 for 4, 2 2B, 2 R, RBI).

In other notes, Darin Mastroianni had the night off for Las Vegas and Brett Lawrie batted leadoff in his place, going 1-4. Kenny Wilson added a walk to his triple (which was not of the ground-ball variety).

Morrow pitched only 4 innings for Dunedin today.  The Jays wanted him to pitch into the 6th inning, to show that he's ready to return to the Jays lineup.  Could this affect his return to the majors?  Probably not -- since the Jays seem determined to bring him back this week -- but it's not exactly an encouraging sign.

Frank Francisco, on the other hand, pitched well today and seems certain to be in the Jays lineup by Tuesday.  With the starting pitchers still struggling, will the Jays opt to keep an 8-man bullpen for a bit longer?

In other news, I see that Justin Jackson has boosted his batting average to .391 as he adjusts to his new outfield role.  Could he begin to thrive as he leaves behind the stresses of the infield?
