The Lugnuts season is hanging by a thread as they dropped the second game of their Midwest League Championship series to fall behind 2-0.

Quad Cities 5    Lansing 3

Justin Nicolino started this one and went four allowing two runs on six hits. He didn't walk or strike out anyone.

At the plate Marcus Knecht did everything he could to even the series going 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Michael Crouse had two hits while KC Hobson homered.

Three Stars:

3rd Star- Michael Crouse- 2-for-4, run

2nd Star- KC Hobson- 1-for-4, HR

1st Star- Marcus Knecht- 3-for-4, 2B, 3B, run

That's it for me for the MLUs in 2011. Thanks for reading.

Thanks braden. I really enjoy reading the MLU's and I appreciate the effort the crew does in that regard.

Aren't the finals a best of 5?

Ack! You're right. The Lugnuts schedule on their site ended yesterday so I went with that.

They are a best of five, it is just that the rest of the games will be on the road.  The achilies heel of errors has come back.  There have been three errors committed by Lansing and that has lead to three runs.  Like wise QC has yet to commit one.....That has pretty much been the difference.

Ybarra came out of the bullpen yesterday and after spending time in Bluefield, going to Vancouver for the playoffs and now coming to Lansing, I'm not sure the guy knew where he was.  He was struggling with his command quite a bit last night.

Now New Hampshire are on the brink.....of winning it all.

The Fisher Cats were hitless for 5.2 innings tonight but scored 5 runs in the sixth and won 5-3.

Deck McGuire starts tomorrow, in his home town, with a chance to clinch.

Anyone know what's up with Hutchison- hasn't pictched and not listed on NH roster - unreported injury? roster manipulation while being saved for possible 5th game?
