I had the good fortune (and deep pockets -- thanks so much, ticket resellers) to attend games one and two of the ALDS at Rogers Centre. I've been to a lot of baseball in that ol' barn -- my personal record was 66 games in 2003 -- and Bauxites, nothing came close to this in terms of noise. Sure, opening day and Mr. Sub gym bag day had sold out crowds, but they were never into watching the ballgame. This was something entirely different, and amazing.

I was also fortunate to be able to take my dad to game one and my oldest son, who attended thirty or so games as an infant in 2005, to game two. We sat in the finest cheap seats in baseball, one section removed from the Cheer Club's beloved 518.

Here was our view. Click on the picture to see a larger version.

The best of luck in the ALCS, gentlemen.

Thanks! I started putting it together as a present for my dad, but figured it could be a present for everybody.

I was in 520 row 19 for games 1 and 5.  It's so weird being behind the lights up there. In game 1 my friend and I traded seats with they guy next to us, who had 2 pairs and ended up in 534 row 11 or something, and the transition into the light was really weird.  520 is definitely a better angle one the park though, even in the second last row you can see right into both corners.

I have a flex pack and was able to get a full strip (in 520 row 19) and an extra pair for the ALDS (536, row 4, my parents used all these tickets). I'm kicking myself a little bit for not having bought an extra pair for all three series, but what can you do.  I sold my game 2 tickets to friends that are also big jays fans, but moved out of the city and thus, didn't buy a flex pack for the first time in 5 years or something.

Regret not going back in '85 when I had a shot and it was much cheaper. If you can afford it you should get to one of the games. We might be on the start of another era of greatness and get shots annually again like 91-93 or it might be another 20+ years. I'm in Thunder Bay or I'd consider going. Maybe one day the Jays will play Minnesota in the playoffs and I'll be able to go (5 hour drive).

A vendor (in my work life) just offered up some tickets for the Tuesday game. Just saying. No, actually, just bragging.

If the home games for the ALCS weren't during the week (the old lady refuses to skip work) I'd be trying to put together a group buy on a luxury suite. Game 3 can be had for a mere $15k - that's actually not too bad split between 20 people.

If the Jays make it to the World Series and there's a weekend home game scheduled, that's gonna be tempting. Of course, a suite for one of those games will probably go for $50k or something crazy like that. Even so...

I love the new banner!

What I meant to say was WHEN the Jays make it to the Series... I'm actually feeling optimism for this team!

Nice job on the new banner!

Thanks, I took some gentle criticism on Twitter that the Box wasn't really celebrating the current state of affairs to heart and figured we needed to hang some pennants up there. And then things spiralled out of control.

The change came as a huge shock to me - I remember the last two times the banner was being changed, there was a great deal of discussion beforehand. This one just HAPPENED. It might take me a bit to adjust to the new typeface, but I think I'll manage. Great work as usual, NFH.

The old typeface was the back-of-jersey font for the Fightin' Jays uniforms. Those have been retired for enough years that it was time to switch. I don't think the bat flip will stick around and I'll reconsider the typeface and treatment whenever we change it again.

Why did we change the banner again? Things were going too well?
