#BlueJays affiliates won three and lost four on Tuesday. Vancouver had the night off except for their four Northwest League All-Star representatives. #LetsGoBlueJays

Toledo 7 Buffalo 5

Billy McKinney was on base all five times with three singles and two walks and also stole a base. Jonathan Davis had two hits, two walks and a swipe. Rowdy Tellez doubled twice and Patrick Kivlehan tripled and singled.

Anthony Kay had a better second outing in a Bisons uniform with two runs allowed over five frames. He gave up a home run among four hits and walked three but his strikeout and groundout totals were six apiece. Kay was in line for the win but a bullpen meltdown from Matt Dermody and Ty Tice in the eighth stopped that from happening.

New Hampshire 7 Akron 0

A three-run home run highlighted a 3-for-4 night and four RBI for Kevin Smith. The other 3-for-4 night was turned in by Josh Palacios who is hitting .389 over his last 10 contests. Brock Lundquist is hitting .353 over his last 10 outings after a 2-for-4 performance.

Six shutout innings of two-hit ball and one walk was the line Justin Dillon put together to earn his fourth win of the year. He struck out two and shrunk his ERA to 3.35.

Graham Spraker suffered the loss despite giving up just two runs on four hits and three walks. He struck out three and recorded five groundball outs.

Bowling Green 6 Lansing 1

Hagen Danner had a hit but is only hitting .175 for the year. It looked like he turned the corner after slugging .667 in June but hit just .169 in July and is now batting .154 so far in August. Tanner Kirwer is hitting .324 over his last 10 games to push his average to .262. Jake Brodt had two hits after a three-day stay with New Hampshire that did not result in any games played. Griffin Conine struck out three times to give him 92 strikeouts. Prime Beer Batter inning material in the minors.

Troy Miller took the loss by giving up four runs over 5-2/3 innings. Andy McGuire had his third straight scoreless appearance with 1-1/3 shutout frames of one-hit relief. Josh Hiatt gave up the other two runs in the eighth.

Jose Espada started this one with two shutout innings in just his second appearance of the year. Rafael Monsion walked three but struck out six over three no-hit innings for the win to chop his ERA down to 1.95.

Hoping to see Kay up with the Jays soon. He was so good in the Eastern league earlier this year, yet has been so consistently poor or mediocre in the IL. I don’t think the level of competition is that different so there may be other reasons for his poor AAA performance. Last night was encouraging overall.

With improved command, he could be part of the rotation in the next few years.

Kay has said it's the ball feeling different and being juiced and it makes sense. His HR/FB in AA was 2.6%/ In AAA, it's been almost 15%.

unfortunately gave up a 2 out 2 run dinger in the 2nd, but otherwise SWR is killing it this afternoon - 4 hits, 0 walks, 8ks, and only 62 pitches thru 5ip.

That's an outstanding performance for an 18-year old at A+.

Nice to have something to get excited about on that Dunedin team again whilst Kirk slumps (sorry, Kacy Clemens!). Keep it up SWR!
