Notes

Stevie Berman got the Herd rumbling with a grand slam off former Blue Jay T.J. Zeuch, one of five Bisons to collect two hits. Cam Eden homered and tripled and Damiano Palmegiani connected for his first Triple-A home run. Rafael Lantigua and Addison Barger also had two hits with Barger getting a double. Orelvis Martinez and Leo Jiménez were also on base twice with a hit with Martinez walking and Jiménez getting plunked. Andrew Bash walked four batters and struck out three over five no-hit frames for the win.

Riley Tirotta belted his seventh homer of the day for New Hampshire FC. Rainer Nuñez had two hits, including a three-run double. Michael Dominguez gave up three runs over four innings, including a homer, and walked three with three whiffs. Adrian Hernández struck out three in two shutout innings with one walk. Juan Nuñez walked two but struck out two over 1-1/3 shutout innings. Joe Jones gave up the three-run homer in the 11th for the walk-off loss.

The C's managed to end a five-game losing skid despite going just 3-for-18 with runners in scoring position and leaving 12 men on base. Adam Macko was a big reason why those stats did not come back to haunt them as he earned his fifth win of the year. Dasan Brown and Jommer Hernández had a hit, a walk, a hit by pitch and a stolen base each out of the number one and nine spots in the batting order. Josh Kasevich had an RBI double and two walks but was pinch-hit for by Angel Del Rosario, who got his first hit in a C's uniform. Seventh-round pick Nick Goodwin had a pinch-hit walk in his Vancouver debut. Gabby Martinez added a two-run single.

Edward Duran had the lone two-hit game for the D-Jays. Manuel Beltre had a hit but Tucker Toman was 0-for-4 with the hat trick while Dunedin whiffed 14 times in total. Connor O'Halloran was charged with the loss after two innings of two-run with a 3-3 K/BB total. Josh Mollerus struck out three of the five batters he faced in 1-2/3 shutout innings.

Speaking of ex Jays prospects, I see Gunnar Hoglund has turned things around to some degree

He had an ERA of 7.48 in A ball in 43 innings. Then he was promoted to Lansing. In 2 games he has an ERA of 2.08 with 12K, 3 hits and O walks in 8.2 innings. His first game he was prefect over 5 innings.

He is still only 23, so who knows? Pretty likely he will be the only useful piece on either the Jays or the A's from the Chapman trade come the spring.

If he makes it, Hoglund will be the 2nd Gunnar in major league history.  I did not know that he was born in Dunedin- I wonder how long the Blue Jays had been scouting him.

Hoglund was very much a command guy in college. Command is usually the last thing to return after TJ.
