Notes

Paul Skenes continues to make a mockery of Triple-A. Last year's number-one pick in the draft blanked the Bisons on four hits and a walk and struck out seven over six innings to lower his ERA to 0.39. Alex Manoah had matched Skenes by posting zeros over the first five innings before another Pirates first-rounder Nick Gonzalez took him deep for a solo shot. That was among just two hits and two walks but the big number for Manoah was 12 as in the number of strikeouts he recorded. Of his 92 pitches, 62 were strikes. Hayden Juenger gave up two runs in the eighth. Brandon Eisert worked a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts. Paxton Schultz struck out in two innings, surviving a bases loaded situation in the 10th. He took the loss in the 11th when Yasmani Grandal had a walk-off single.Damiano Palmegiani tied the game with a three-run home run in the top of the ninth. Nathan Lukes had two doubles among his four hits. Brian Serven doubled. Spencer Horwitz and Orelvis Martinez had a hit apiece.

Michael Dominguez gave up just a solo homer among two hits and one walk while punching out seven over five innings. Abdiel Mendoza gave up two runs in one-inning plus to take the loss. Eric Pardinho pitched two perfect frames with a stranded runner and struck out three. The Fisher Cats got RBI singles from Alex De Jesús and Garrett Spain to take a 2-1 lead but it didn't last. De Jesús had two doubles for a three-hit game and Josh Kasevich had the fifth and final New Hampshire hit. Michael Turconi walked thrice and stole twice, how nice!

The top two hitters in the Vancouver order did the damage with Dasan Brown was 3-for-4 with two walks, three stolen bases and a run batted in. Ryan McCarty was 2-for-5 and knocked home four, including a two-run double after a 13-pitch at-bat which led to the eventual game-winning RBI. Glenn Santiago and Jommer Hernández had two hits apiece in the eight and nine spots in the batting order. Jace Bohrofen doubled and walked twice. Jeff Wehler and Brennan Orf walked twice with Wehler stealing two bases. Geison Urbaez gave up two runs over 3-2/3 innings but struck out four. Grayson Thurman got the win by stranding a runner and striking out a pair over 1-1/3 innings. Josh Mollerus allowed two runs over 1-1/3 butNaswell Paulino, Anders Tolhurst and Chay Yeager combined to get the final eight outs with Tolhurst striking out two.

Connor O'Halloran ended April in style with 6-2/3 shutout innings, scattering three hits while striking out nine. He did not issue a walk and recorded five outs on the ground for the win. Keiner Leon stranded a runner and struck out two over 1-1/3 for the hold. Yendrei Rojas got the save with a perfect ninth that included strikeouts to start and end the frame. Edward Duran had two of Dunedin's five hits, including a double. Yhoangel Aponte had a triple and scored on a Manuel Beltre sacrifice fly. Tucker Toman and Bryce Arnold both singled. Toman struck out twice and Arjun Nimmala went down on strikes three times.
