NOTES
Buffalo outhit St Paul 8-3 but lost. Alan Roden had three of the eight hits, one a triple. Marco Estrada went four innings and did not allow a run with five K's. He didn't have his best command, 44 strikes and 37 balls. Paxton Schultz gave up a two run home run and took the loss.
Ryan Watson was not at his best in the first New Hampshire game. He was taken deep three times. RJ Schreck homered for New Hampshire's only run.
In game two Michael Dominguez again pitched well and again was limited to three innings. Hunter Gregory followed with three shutout innings and both Dominguez and Gregory have ERA's of 0.56. Yohendrick Pinango and RJ Schreck had three hits each. Schreck homered again for two in two games and four on the season.
For Vancouver, Jackson Wentworth, like Ryan Watson, was not at his best. Ten hits, four runs and only one K in 5.2 innings. Arjun Nimmala hit his seventh home run of the season.
Gilberto Batista was dominant for Dunedin. He struck out nine in five shutout innings. Javan Coleman struck out the side to pick up his second save. It has been six appearances and ten innings since he gave up an earned run. Its a race between Coleman, Yesavage and Stephen for the next promotion. Now that Victoria day, and warmer weather, is on the horizon, can promotions be far behind?
The FCL Jays lost on a steal of home. The Blue Jays poor recruiting in Latin America has been discussed here several times. David Beckles was 3-3 and is hitting .400. The 21 year old 1B/OF was released by the Yankees last season. That fact, his position, and his age suggest we shouldn't be too hopeful of him reaching the major leagues. Yorman Licourt is hitting well, he was signed as a 20 year old free agent last season out of Cuba. Edrick Felix is hitting .381. He is 23 years old, very old for the FCL, and was traded to the Jays from the White Sox in April.
On the positive side Johnny King made his debut. He went two innings, one hit, two walks, three K's.
