NOTES
Adam Macko still hasn't figured out AAA. In the first inning Omaha scored three runs with four hits, three of them extra base hits. Macko then retired seven out of the next eight hitters but a lead off walk in the fourth came in to score. Macko was done after four innings, six hits and just two K's.
37 year old Dallas Keuchel started for Omaha. The Bisons just scored one off him. In total they had seven hits, Rainer Nunez had two of them.
There was a pitching prospect face off in New Hampshire. Kendry Rojas vs Jonah Tong. Tong, from Markham, is a rising prospect who is ranked the number 57 prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline. Both pitchers gave up a run in the first inning. Kendry had a couple of ground ball singles to start the inning and a wild pitch scored the run. A Tong error helped NH score in their first inning.
After the run scored Rojas struck out two hitters in the first inning, two in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth. A single and a double in the fifth led to Rojas exiting the game. 4.2 innings, eight K's, four hits, one walk, one run.
The NH hitters had just two hits off Tong in 5.1 innings and five hits total in the game, all singles. Jackson Hornung was 2-3 with a walk. Victor Arias was 1-4 after his promotion to AA.
Three Vancouver pitchers combined to limit Spokane to one run. Chris McElvain went four shutout innings, Johan Simon went three and Javen Coleman the last two.
The C's had six hits but four of them came in the fifth inning. Bryce Arnold singled in two and Cutter Coffey singled in the third. Carter Cunningham doubled in Arjun Nimmala in the sixth. Cunningham was the only C with two hits. Nimmala walked twice. Edward Duran had a hit, Sam Shaw sat as Spokane started a lefty.
Landen Maroudis had trouble throwing strikes for Dunedin. He threw more balls than strikes, 34 to 27. As a result he walked six in 2.1 innings, and struck out four. Somehow he only conceded one run. The Jays used five relievers after Maroudis including Eric Pardinho who threw an inning and a third as part of his rehab.
The Jays trailed 3-1 into the seventh. But then Jacob Lojewski hit a two run home run to tie the game and JR Freethy followed with a back to back jack to put Dunedin ahead. It was Lojewski's first home run of the season.
In the FCL the Jays scored three in the top of the ninth to turn a losing position into a win. David Beckles doubled with the bases loaded. He added another double and an RBI single.
