Game Threads Yankees at Jays: June 12 - 14; Time to Knuckle Down
The Jays split a four game series with the Yankees in the Bronx back in May. Now the Yankees are Judge free but Cole is back in the rotation. The Yankees are nine games ahead of the Jays and with a 6-4 record over their last ten games, they aren't missing Judge all that much.

SCHEDULE

Friday: Weathers vs Yesavage

Saturday: Schlittler vs Gausman

Sunday: Warren vs Corbin


The Jays starters for Saturday and Sunday are listed as TBD on MLB.com. I am not sure why.


The Jays are getting most of their injured guys back. Cease and Scherzer are back, Bieber is close. Kirk is now back so the Jays are missing Barger and Varsho. Time to show what they are all about.

Alejandro Kirk activated, designated Tyler Heineman for assignment. Varsho on the IL, Davis Schneider back up. Yariel Rodriguez cleared waivers and is back in Buffalo. Heineman can reject a AAA assignment even if he clears waivers. We will see what happens.

It would have been possible to keep 3 catchers.  With the offensive contributions that Kirk and Valenzuela make, they could get significant DH time. I am however glad that they did not send Valenzuela down. It's not a good idea to option your most valuable player almost halfway through the season if you are trying to compete.
