So remember that photo of Doc giving some poor batter the stare? Well, here's the guy who was at the receiving end of it, the mighty Cookie Monster himself:

Terrific shot, Aaron. But couldn't you have put it up when the Sox have an off day? I dislike the A's as much as anyone, but I don't want to see the mojo used against them to benefit a division rival! :)

Hah, in my Jays-centricism I only thought to put it up when the Jays weren't playing. Next time I'll take that into account.

All is forgiven anyway, as it's a great shot.

I went to the game on May 8th and had a question about this year's ticketing.
We bought two $9 500 level seats at the main ticket windows a couple hours before the game.
We overheard somebody else's ticket salesman mention a $2 service charge and sure enough they charged us $22 for the two tickets.
What I'm trying to figure out is the reason for the surcharge. Was it because we paid with a credit card?

No, you cannot get tickets without paying this service charge. I believe its for passing the tickets across the counter.

I think it's a silly thing, if they want $11 a ticket, just charge $11.

I believe its for passing the tickets across the counter.

Not even. If you buy on the internet your tickets are automatically e-mailed to you and you print them out yourself. And pay the $2. Lousy scammers.

alsiem,

Thanks for clearing that up.
I agree with you. I'd have paid $11 if that's what they said it was in the first place.
After conversion to USD (at the stinky credit card rate) it was $9 anyway. :)
Still the best bargain in baseball. Jacobs Field's $5 seats suck. Their $10's aren't much better. I was in the 2nd row between 3rd and home at Skydome.

What, you don't like Tropicana's $1.00s for our 200 outfield equivalency.

The Red Sox lost, so the mojo works to the Blue Jays advantage. Really, this should come as no surprise.

The Rays really have regular $1 tickets?
I'd have to say that those Trop tix probably can't be 9 times worse than the 2nd row of the 500 on the infield...
That said, I hate watching live baseball from the outfield. So I'd probably spend more to not do it.

Well at least a couple years ago they did. There's this little bleacher section called "The Beach" where there's wooden benches and fake palm trees. It's actually pretty sad. I'm pretty sure it still exists.
