The Dodgers are probably going to have to choose between Jeff Kent and Milton Bradley, and after what was reported in the papers today - 3 incidents bring police to home of Dodgers' Bradley - it seems safe to predict they'll be cutting their ties with Bradley, who is arbitration eligible this off-season. The Dodgers can choose not to make him an offer, and let him become a free agent.

Not that Jeff Kent ("[he]doesn't discriminate against anybody. He ignores Latinos, blacks and whites equally.") is a lot of fun himself.

We have a couple of showdowns!

Barry Zito and Bartolo Colon are matched up in Disneyland. Colon is looking for his 18th win, and making his case for the AL Cy Young. The A's are coming off a sweep of the Orioles, and take a one game lead into the series with the Angels.

Meanwhile, in San Diego... come on! Don't laugh! The top two teams in the division, going head-to-head... the D'Backs with maybe their last, best chance to get within a couple of games of first place.... yes, I know Arizona could win their next 10 games and they would still have a losing record... it's still a showdown! And Jake Peavy is pitching...

The Not-A-Showdown series happens right here in Toronto, although third place could be at stake. The staggering Blue Jays host the reeling Orioles. Both teams have lost eight of their last ten games.

Washington-Atlanta was rained out last night - they're going to try to play two on Wednesday, but with Katrina wreaking havoc across the American South, they may have trouble getting tonight's game in as well.

Bradley is a magnificent talent, but if he is ever a useful contributor again in the majors I'll be very surprised. His last four years have been spent spinning progreesively out of control. What a waste.

(Not just of talent, either.)

Can't argue with the A's and Angels being the game of the night, but i am interested to see how Schilling does in the starters role again. I mean, if he gets shelled by the Rays tonight, after being shelled by the Royals. Would you be confident in him going against the Yanks?
