CJ Van Eyk allowed just a run on three hits and walk and struck out four over four innings. Javen Coleman struck out one in a perfect ninth. Daz Cameron had a double among his four hits and stole a base. Sean Keys homered and doubled. Charles McAdoo was 2-for-5 with a two-run single and Rudy Martin Jr. drew three walks. Josh Kasevich had an RBI groundout but was 0-for-5.

RBI doubles by JR Freethy and Nick Goodwin and a Hedbert Perez run-scoring single punctuated a four-run third inning. Dub Gleed then hit a two-run homer in the seventh and that was the margin of victory. Gleed has an OPS just six points shy of .900. Goodwin and Perez both walked, Cutter Coffey had a base hit and a base on balls and Carter Cunningham singled and was hit by a pitch. Jacob Sharp walked twice and threw out a runner trying to steal. Alex Amalfi yielded two runs on five hits, including a home run. He walked two and fanned five batters over four innings. Winning pitcher Angel Obando rung up seven hitters, giving up one run over four frames with a hit and two walks issued. Yondrei Rojas gave up a homer but struck out the final batter looking for the save.

Troy Guthrie gave up two homers and five runs in 1⅔ innings. There were seven hits allowed and one walk along with two strikeouts. Holden Wilkerson only got two outs and was ripped for a homer among four runs. Gilberto Batista and Colby Holcombe also gave up long balls and mutiple runs. Infielder Raimundo De Los Santos put up the only goose egg by working around a hit and a walk in the eighth inning. Gable Mitchell had two hits while Jake Casey and Peyton Williams had a hit and awalk apiece. Williams had a double as did Bryce Chance.

In the Dominican, Celwin Hurkmans was really hurtin' in this one. He was hammered for 10 runs in 1⅔ innings, giving up eight hits, walking four, plunking four and striking out one. Michael Mesa was 4-for-5, Cristopher Polanco was on base four times with a double, two singles, a walk and drove in two runs. Juan Caricote had a couple of knocks.
