Someone should ask Zaun why he wears his hat under his mask. That point at the top can get a little painful.

So nobody noticed his customized turtleneck now that says Z-Man?

I think it's on his neck guard or some piece of equipment like that.

I didn't notice it until I looked closely at some pictures I took in April. Most catchers have at least their name embroidered there -- Posada certainly does.

Zaun might remove the button from his cap. There was some discussion on ESPN.com's Page 2 Uni Watch article about ball players removing the button from their caps.

Zaun definitely has two sets of caps: a set for wearing under his helmet, and a set for "publicity".

In this photograph you can see how the cap brim is starting to bend upwards like a cartoon duck beak. I'll look around and see if I have a better shot that more clearly demonstrates this -- anyways, if he wore this cap forwards he'd look like Donald Duck.

If he's the guy doing the post-game interview, you'll see him dash to the dugout and swap caps.

But the button is still there on top. Interesting. Perhaps it doesn't cause much discomfort under the helmet.
