The AFL season started last night. The team the Jays contribute to, the Peoria Saguaros, were an opening night bust. The Saguaros fell to Surprise 14-2, as Michael Bourn drove in 4 runs. Steve Andrade, Bubbie Buzachero, Guillermo Quiroz, Ryan Roberts and Adam Lind are with the Saguaros.
If they want a serious test of hitting prospects in the AFL they would be better off paying for some AAA veterans to fill out the staffs instead of what they have down there now.
I'm not really sure what the point of it is the way it's currently configured, unless the point is to build the confidence of your hitters, they can't be getting much out of it.
