The affliates went 3-1 with two rainouts.

Buffalo at Syracuse - PPD

Trenton 1 at New Hampshire 4

Michael MacDonald went the distance for the Fisher Cats.  He gave up just 3 hits and 2 walks on the night and had 3 strikeouts with the lone run scoring on a solo HR.  MacDonald has a 3.54 ERA in 94 innings in AA.

Big Vito Chiaravalloti got the start at 1B and hit a 3 run HR, one of just 4 NH hits on the night.  Adam Lind had a triple.

Fort Myers 3 at Dunedin 4

Eric Fowler started for the D-Jays going 6 innings and giving up 3 runs on six hits and no walks.  Fowler had 6 Ks on the night.

The hits were spread out for Dunedin - only Aaron Matthews had two hits.  Cory Patton and Ryan Klosterman each had a double, run scored and an RBI.

Lansing 6 at Fort Wayne 14

It was a tough night for Chi-Hung Cheng who gave up a home run and 5 walks in 4 innings pitched.  Po-Hsuan Keng had his worst outing of the year giving up 9 runs (6 earned) in 2 innings.  Surprisingly, his ERA rose to just 3.21.

Anthony Hatch had three hits for the Nuts.  His line for the year is now .355/.430/.638.  Perhaps it's time to move to Dunedin.  David Hicks also had three hits while Sean Shoffit had two hits and a walk.

Auburn at Williamsport - PPD

Burlington 2 at Pulaski 10

Wes Stone had two hits and a walk for Pulaski.  Jaspe, Franco, and Fernandez also had two hits each.  Travis Snider made his professional debut going 0-4 with 3 Ks.

Pulaski used 6 pitchers on the night with none going more than 3 innings.

3 Stars!
3 - Anthony Hatch
2 - David Hicks
1 - Michael MacDonald

The most important stat of the night in New Hampshire: 19 groundouts for MacDonald. He breezed through six only giving up a lead-off double in the fifth and escaped a jam by inducing a broken-bat DP after walking Sardinha to start the seventh. Vito's homer wrapped around the foul pole in left, another five feet and it would have hooked foul. The Fishercats recieved a gift in the inning, however, on Thigpen's rbi "triple" that was more or less a terrible read by the left fielder Faison, who broke striaght at the ball, stopped, lost it in the sun and dove at the last minute. Oh well, we'll take it.

Dunedin played this afternoon and won 8-3. Canadian catcher David Corrente is on some kind of a tear. He blasted 2 more homers today, and now has 5 in 75 FSL at-bats.  He hasn't shown any power since Rookie Ball in 2002, but at age 22 and with his size, a power spike is possible.  It's more likely, of course, that this is just a flukey thing, but wouldn't it make a cool story if he did emerge as a prospect?

Who will be designated as  to the all-stars from the Fisher Cats  Could Mike Mac Donald be one of them?

If I were to guess I'd say that MacDonald, Ramirez, Lind and Thigpen would be the All Stars from NH.  Davis Romero almost certainly would have made it if he didn't get called up.

Syracuse lost 3-1 today despite a great start from Jamie Vermilyea.  Vermilyea allowed one run on five hits in seven innings.  Vinnie Chulk took the loss.  The Chiefs had only two hits.

Lansing won today.

According to BlueJayWay Jesse Litsch has been promoted to New Hampshire.  One of the New Hampshire starters will have to be dropped or promoted.  Ricky Romero and Kyle Yates don't have much experience and are unlikely to be moved.  David Purcey probably needs more time in AA.  That leaves Michael MacDonald and Kurt Isenberg.  Isenberg might go to the bullpen although New Hampshire do have a doubleheader next week.  Of course someone could also be going on the DL.
