Adam Lind makes it three in a row.

Each year the Jays award the Webster Award to the top players at each of the minor league affiliates. Here are the winners:

Syracuse - Kevin Barker, 1B
New Hampshire - Adam Lind, OF
Dunedin - Ryan Patterson, OF
Lansing - Chi-Hung Cheng, P
Auburn - Scott Campbell, 2B
Lansing - Travis Snider, OF

As MLB.com points out Lind joins Carlos Delgado and Luis Lopez as the only three time winners of the award.

The Minor League Crew is putting the finishing touches on the annual Top 30 Blue Jay prospect list. It is scheduled to begin on Monday.

On Wednesday, the Blue Jays revealed the 2006 class of Webster winners, including Lind for the third consecutive year. Only two other Toronto players -- Carlos Delgado (1990, '92-'93) and Luis Lopez (1997-99, 2001) -- have won at least three of the awards.

Wait a minute. Am I to believe Luis Lopez won this award four times?

The same Luis Lopez who had two distinct roles in his only year with Toronto: (a) pinch-hitting for Darrin Fletcher and (b) pretending to play 3B after Tony Batista found himself on the Orioles?

Man, I am so glad 2001 is over...

I don't think there are any surprises in this list.  Two of the picks were league MVP's (Lind and Snider) so they were easy choices.  The Syracuse team had slim pickings and Barker was a deserving candidate.  Ryan Patterson earned a promotion from Dunedin and Jesse Litsch was likely his major competition at high A.  Chi-Hung Cheng did well but Billy Carnline was better early in the year, Carnline probably didn't hang around long enough to be able to win the award.  Anthony Hatch might also have had a shot until he was injured.  Scott Campbell was the best hitter in Auburn although his numbers were not earth-shattering, but he was the number three hitter by the end of the season.

Any bets on Adam Lind NOT making it 4 in a row?

There's a reasonable chance he won't spend enought time at Syracuse next year to get the Webster again..
