Marc Rzepczynski was the standout on a 1-5 night in the minors.


Pawtucket 11 @ Syracuse 4

Russ Adams went 2-4 with a HR and Kevin Barker added a solo HR for the Chiefs.  On the mound Mark Redman gave up 10 runs, although just 4 earned.

Altoona 5 at New Hampshire 6 - 10 innings


Several multiple hit nights in NH - Mayorson, Mathews, Paterson and Peralta (including a HR).  Kyle Yates gave up all 5 runs in 6 innings of work.  He allowed a HR among the 9 hits, walked none, and struck out 4.  Jesse Carlson pitched 3 scoreless innings, striking out 5.

Dunedin 4 at Jupiter 5

Eric Nielsen, Kyle Phillips, and Chad Cota each had two hits.  Adrian Martin got the start and pitched 5.1 innings, striking out 5, walking none, and allowing just 2 runs.  In 21.2 innings for the D-Jays Martin has a 20:1 K:BB ratio.

Lansing 4 at Kane County 16

Ouch.  Kyle Ginley got rocked, giving up 8 runs and not being able to get out of the second inning.  Travis Snider hit his 9th HR of the season and was 2-5 on the night.

Auburn 3 at Brooklyn 4

The Doubledays managed just 4 hits on the night, with Baron Frost getting the only XBH.  Marc Rzepczynski had a great start striking out 10 and walking none over 6 innings.  He gave up just three hits, but they were all bunched together in the 4th when Brooklyn got two runs on a single, double, GO, and single.

GCL Jays 1 at GCL Phillies 4

A couple of 07 draftees had good days at the plate - Justin Jackson had 3 hits and John Tolisano had 2 hits including a double.

It's nice to see that Lind's back in the lineup for the Chiefs.  If he has a good run and re-discovers his swing over the next three weeks I'd like to see him up with the Jays in September.  Assuming Lind regains his stroke, I think he and Johnson should platoon until he's ready to take over full-time in LF.  Having Lind in the lineup might help the Jays score some runs against right-handers.
