Travis Snider provided the only remotely positive news on the minor league front, as the affiliates went 0-2.

West Michigan 6 @ Lansing 2

The Whitecaps submerged the Lugnuts with 4 homers in the opening game of their Midwest League playoff series.  Julio Pinto started for the Luggies and was touched for 2 of the homers, but otherwise pitched well and left trailing 3-2 after 6 innings.  Pinto walked one and struck out 6.  Po-Hsuan Keng and Edward Estanga struggled in relief.  Travis Snider hit a solo homer in the first inning and later singled.

Auburn 0 @ Jamestown 2

The Doubledays could manage only 3 hits and struck out 16 times, as they fell to the Jammers.  Alan Farina started and did throw 3.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and a walk with 4 punchouts, but that was the extent of the good news.

The Auburn loss was inconsequential, the division title is locked up.  Lansing have lost game one of a best of three with the next two games on the road.  That will be tough.

16 errors for Snider!  Hey Lugnutsfan, how's he look in the field?  Think he'll handle an everyday defensive position on the major league level?

That is good.  Unfortunately, they are not yet integrated with major league records, so if you search for Cameron Maybin, you get this. Firstinning.com is still a preferable source for this reason.

Snider takes some rough routes to balls, but most of Sniders errors are from throwing.  He is either going to be a corner outfielder or I could potentially see a move to first base for  him.  He needs to learn to hit the cut off man.  If he does that, I think he will be okay.

When searched Ozzie Smith at BR and saw a whole row of Minor League players to the right, it was almost more exciting than having sex for the first time. I want my firstborn daughter to marry Sean Forman.

This may have been discussed before so I apologize, but why does Snider have 13 SB attempts, especially when he has only stolen 3 of those successfully? Seems strange for them to let our Prince Fielder run wild.

Snider is not Prince Fielder.  He is actually in pretty decent shape and has decent speed.  If he can get better jumps, he will steal more bases.  Fielder was a very big, slow power hitter.  Snider pounds the ball around very similar to the way that Fielder did when he was in the MWL, but he has much better speed than Fielder.
