In preparation for the top 30 prospect series which will begin tomorrow, it is helpful to have a sense of the league standards and park factors for each of the affiliates- Syracuse in the International League, New Hampshire in the Eastern League, Dunedin in the Florida State League, Lansing in the Midwest League, Auburn in the New York Penn League and the GCL Jays in the Gulf Coast League.

Here is the chart of league averages (with park factors in brackets).  Park factors are courtesy of firstinning.com, and are available for the full-season leagues only.

Don't know where to put this, but Travis Snider was listed by Baseball America as the number 2 prospect in the Midwest league, behind Clayton Kershaw (who BA says is the best pitching prospect in the minors).  No other Jays prospect made the top 20.

Having seen both players, I would have to say Baseball America got it right.  Snider and Kershaw could probably flip flop positions, but I'm fine with the way they ranked them.  Travis is special, but a left hander like Kershaw who has a 97 MPH fastball with two other plus pitches is pretty special too.  Kind of a tough choice.
