.......out standing in his own field.  We'll give our very own Mick Doherty a couple of seconds to process that one or it will go over his head for extra bases.  :D  Anyways, the winner of the 2009 Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter award is in the spotlight of yet another December Double POTD

Adam Lind prepares for a game at the Rogers Centre September 7th.  One day later, Lind was named the American League Player of the Week.   To me, he's got the "Jack Parkman" look from "Major League" and it almost looks like he wants to talk to his bat "Jobu" like Pedro Cerrano.  "If you don't help me now, Jobu!......."  I won't complete the rest of that quote because this is a family website!

Lind hones the smooth left-handed swing that helped him hit .305/.370/.562 with 46 doubles, 35 homers and 114 runs batted in.  The 26 year-old from Muncie, Indiana won the American League Silver Slugger Award as a DH and becomes the third Jay to be named the AL's top designated hitter since Dave Winfield and Paul Molitor won it back to back in 1992 and 1993.

So by the associative principle, Lind ends up in the Hall of Fame someday, right?

Or he ends up being born in Minnesota.

Well, he was born in Indiana. But lots of people here in Texas think Indiana and Minnesota are essentially the same place, maybe except for the basketball vs. hockey obsession.
