This North Vancouver native has defied all the odds to make it to the bigs and hopes to strike major league gold again in 2010.

Scott Richmond is featured on Jays Vision during the World Baseball Classic.  Just like the 2008 Olympics, Richmond did not get to throw a pitch for Canada at the WBC thanks to a stunning loss against Italy at Rogers Centre.

Scott Richmond jogs near the left field scoreboard prior his to his September 7th start against Minnesota.

Richmond continues his run on a sunny Labour Day Monday.

Richmond pitches in the first inning against the Twins.  He gave up five runs in that inning but managed to make it through six frames during a 6-3 loss.

Scott Richmond is trying to rehab his sore right shoulder after an impingement was discoverd earlier this month.  Here's hoping the big righty can return to the mound soon and regain the form he showed last April when he was named the American League Rookie of the Month.

Your headline makes me think we should be writing a song for this fella. Hey, remember ...

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.

Maybe ...

If I were Scott Richmond,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd pitch with my right arm.
If I were a pitching man ...

Anyone else, suggestions?

Nice, Mick.  Alex Anthopoulos could take a cue from Matchmaker

Matchmaker, matchmaker
make me a matcher,
find me a find, catch me a catcher

:)
