Trouble ahead. Trouble behind.

But in the meantime, it's a random two-game series at home against a random opponent. Barry Zito, who's enjoying a minor renaissance this year, gets the ball for the Giants against R.A. Dickey at 7:07.

That notion just crossed my mind.

Dickey throws 115 pitches. So much for the theory that his injuries are limiting his durability.

nice to see them score without the HR, too.

He seemed to be comfortable for the first time.

Bonifacio is fun to watch when he gets a head of steam up.  It was awfully impressive for him to score on that Cabrera double with Pence playing it well.

115 pitches in 6 innings isn't anything to brag about.

April numbers are slowly regressing to normal.

So, who's starting tomorrow?

R.A. Dickey might still have neck and shoulder issues, because those problems heal in their own good time. Dickey is now 3-5 with a NDL (Loup). With just better Offense, he could be 6-2, and who would complain?

Having 18 hits and 3 BB with no HR indicates this team is turning thing around. After all, they are 6-7 in May having won 6 of their last 9.

As long as Reyes, Santos and Happ are back by All Star Break (if not sooner), this Team will do well. Johnson will return when ready, possibly mid-June at the latest.

Ortiz, Buehrle and Jenkins start the next three games. As long as this Team hits, pitching shouldn't matter as much.

Well, leafs are out, so it's Jays time now.

methinks they've dug themselves too deep a hole, but I'll give them a chance to get in one good hot streak to right the ship before counting them out.

seems like they're finally starting to heat up a bit, after that unfathomably bad start from every part of the team. now if only health could start going our way a bit, we might really be able to pick up some steam. unfortunately it's going to be tough if we're stuck with Ortiz and Jenkins in the rotation for very long. Nice to see Dickey's knuckler dancing tonight for really the first time all year. Still not controlling it well but it's a step forward.

the last few games have been a lot more fun to watch, at least.

Fortunately, Casey Janssen didn't have to watch his speed.

R.A. just made it through the sixth inning, but with the big lead our premium bullpen-ers got an additional day's rest. With the two off days this week, it's a golden opportunity to give them a much-needed break. Let's just hope Ortiz can repeat his performance from last week.

Tough assignment for Ortiz against a good lineup. He'll likely need to catch a couple of breaks to be successful. His control was iffy against the Red Sox, but he walked the tightrope.

On the flip side, Vogelsong has struggled mightily this year. Sometimes floundering pitchers seem to get back on track against the Jays' hitters - we'll see how it plays out.

Interesting look at coat of players currently injured.

Certainly a big drag for a lot of teams.

Make that "cost"
What I wouldn't give for an "edit" function.

Fortunately, Casey Janssen didn't have to watch his speed.

For years, I have heard the lyrics as:
Riding D-Train.  High on Cocaine.  Tracy Jones is ready- better watch your speed.

Needless to say, not sanctioned by either the Dead or MLB.
