A solid pitching performance in Lansing and a come from behind victory in Buffalo. Your affiliates went 2-1 on the night.

BUFFALO 6 Scranton/WB 5

Buffalo came from behind to pick up the “W.” The Bisons scored one in the seventh and then three in the eighth to squeak by the home Yankee affiliate. Every Bison save David Adams had a hit. A.J. Jimenez had two, including a homerun. Jimenez also walked and drove in four. Long-time Jays’ farmhand Casey Lawrence went four and two-thirds giving up five earned. Chad Jenkins got the win with two and one third of shutout relief.

Dunedin 4 TAMPA 10

Michael De La Cruz homered as part of a two hit day. Emilio Guerrero is hitting .409 in his fourth year in Dunedin. D.J. Davis golden sombrero’d. Kyle Westwood got hit around over four and two-thirds.

Lake County 4 LANSING 6

Looks like the Jays may have something in Angel Perdomo. He pitched five innings of one run and one hit ball, striking out nine along the way. Perdomo balked the run home. Andrew Guillotte, Ryan Hissey, and Justin Atkinson had two hits apiece. Atkinson drove in three and walked once. Sean Reid-Foley goes tomorrow.

Three Stars

3. Justin Atkinson

2. A.J. Jimenez

If we consider Dalton Pompey a prospect for the purpose of my comment, the Jays have Alford, Pompey and Urena injured and missing play at the moment. Throw in Max Pentecost and it isn't a good start to the season for prospect health.

I am hoping for a quick promotion of Perdomo. He shows lots of promise but he's a good 2yrs old for that level already.

About the Bisons' batting order, Domonic Brown batting 3rd is piling up striking out. For the middle of the order, Montero is also getting on base by swinging. Casilla as leading off does not draw walks whereas Pompey does. Burns and Lake are not playing well. Sanchez is heating up in getting on base only. So an amendment to the order

Leadoff: CF Pompey, 2B/SS Casilla
2nd DH/1B Kotchman
3rd; DH/1B Kotchman, 1B/DH/C? Montero
4th cleanup: 3B/1B Dominguez
5th: RF/LF Brown
6th: C Jimenez, SS/2B/3B/LF Burns
7th: 2B/3B Adams, C Sanchez
8th: OF Lake
9th: C Sanchez, SS Mier, 2B/SS Casilla

For example,
SS Casilla for .avg and speed
DH Kotchman for .obp and walks in much less SO, and some .slg
1B Montero for .slg and .obp
3B Dominguez for .slg yet less SO
RF Brown for .slg, more SO matters less
LF Burns for .obp and some .avg, more SO matters less
2B Adams for better hitter than guys behind
CF Lake for his defense until improvement in performance in terms of stats
C Sanchez for .obp in walks in less SO, less .avg matters less

Shall the Bisons consider signing more hitters, why sign a veteran like Bourn ? Would that transaction happen because Bourn played in the Indians' organization when Shapiro is in charge ? I do not know if my comparison is reasonable but are OF Brad Glenn, IF Kevin Nolan of last season's Bisons still out of Triple-A baseball ? Not to mention former Jays and current Twins' OF Darin Mastroianni and Canadians OF Tyson Gillies as former Phillies and Rene Tosoni as former Twins. My point was to ask while other option is still available, does signing Bourn signal to Pillar that the latter's under-performance has caught eyes...

amendment to that post:
3B Dominguez for .slg yet less SO than the hitter in front and better .avg than the hitter behind
RF Brown for .slg, .avg matters less
