Quick notes on a Sunday night.

Zach Jackson got the win for Buffalo. He is 7-0 and getting closer to the Majors. He had a 0.48 ERA in June and zero so far in July.

Bryan Baker got the save in his first AAA appearance.

Nate Pearson was supposed to have the restrictions removed after the Futures Game. But he pitched just three innings. He threw 44 pitches and gave up a solo home run.

Forrest Wall had three hits including his seventh home run.

Kevin Smith homered, again. He did have two K's though. His average is still under 200 but his July numbers have been very good.

Alejandro Kirk, 3-5, two doubles.

Eric Pardinho, five shutout innings, three hits, one walk, four K's.

Leonardo Jimenez, 4-5 with Bluefield, one double, now hitting .311

Vancouver are still playing. Yorman Rodriguez was removed from the game after three innings and two hits. He was removed shortly after legging out an infield single.

If successful in Lansing this season, which it appears thus far he will be, Pardinho will begin next season in Dunedin as a 19 year old starter with designs on making AA by mid-season. That is one heck of a prospect. But first - Lansing. So far, so good.

Thomas Pannone had another good outing for Buffalo. You would think that he might get called in time for Thursday's game. He only threw 4 innings today.

Pardinho's ascent and fanfare reminds me a lot of Osuna's. Minus, hopefully, the extra-curriculars.

A lot of great farm performances tonight.

Edwin Jackson as been activated. I can't say if he goes Tuesday or Thursday but SRF/Waguespack are probably the other choices. They pitched better than Pannone the last time around. He seemed to run out of gas.

In keeping with the title of this thread,  Zach is a keeper for the Jackson Seven and Edwin....well he was pretty decent in his day, but maybe he can be a roadie now and one day he might be a band manager candidate.

Addison Barger, who got $270 K as a HS pick in the 6th round last year, was put on the Restricted List a couple of days ago, per Appy League transactions.

Baseball-Reference: "A team can request that a player be placed on the restricted list if that player has left the team without a valid reason, or has announced his intention to retire but is still of an age or level of skill that could allow him to return to professional baseball in the future."

It's more likely he got popped for PEDs since he was hitting well; I doubt he was looking to retire.

Christopher Bec is showing as suspended in Dunedin. Nick Podkul is showing as inactive and Merryweather hasn't pitched since June 29 so he must be hurt again...

Nice to see him in CF instead of LF.

Fingers crossed.
