Buffalo won a tight one to maintain their first place in the division. The FCL Jays racked up 17 hits in their win. Yosver Zulueta was poor, again, as Vancouver lost. New Hampshire and Dunedin also lost.

Buffalo 3 Lehigh Valley 2

Somerset 11 New Hampshire 4

Eugene 10 Vancouver 5

Dunedin 3 Jupiter 5

FCL Blue Jays 10 FCL Phillies 5

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Seven hits for the Bisons, Stevie Berman homered for the only extra base hit. Berman and Logan Warmoth had two hits each.

Joe Biagini started and threw three shutout innings. Bowden Francis was good and he added 3.2 shutout innings. Mike Ellenbest gave up a run and needed Adrian Hernandez to get out of the eighth. Hernandez then came back out for the ninth and Scott Kingery took him deep but the Bisons held on for the 3-2 win.

New Hampshire took a 4-0 lead on a pair of two run home runs from Phil Clarke and LJ Talley. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. Nick Fraze had a no hitter going through four innings but in the fifth Somerset got to him for three hits and two runs. Fraze recorded seven K's in his five innings.

Cre Finfrock gave up two runs to tie the game but it was Parker Caracci who really took it. He got one out while conceding seven runs. Catcher Ryan Gold had to pitch to get the last two outs.

We have learned that its not enough to throw hard as a pitcher, location is also important. Yosver Zulueta is learning that lesson. A lead off walk and a hit batter led to a Eugene run in the first. A home run made it 2-0 in the second. Two more walks set the table in the third and when a couple of hits and another walk followed, the score was 5-0. Zulueta was done after three innings and eighty pitches, 40 strikes and 40 balls. The usually reliable Abdiel Mendoza followed and he was charged with four runs in four innings as Eugene built up a 9-1 lead.

The C's had just six hits. Tyler Kennan had two while Miguel Hiraldo drove in two runs with a double.

The D Jays were down 2-1 in the eighth when Roque Salinas doubled in the tying run. Damiano Palmegiani then singled in Salinas to give the Jays a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the eighth Connor Cooke put runners on second and third while getting two outs. One more out to preserve the lead. But a wild pitch let Jupiter tie the game. Then a single and another wild pitch made it a 5-3 game.

Jonatan Bernal started, went five innings, gave up two runs.

In the FCL The Jays had 17 hits. Dasan Brown on rehab went 2-3. Manuel Beltre was 2-4 with both hits being doubles. Cristain Feliz had two hits, drove in three and hit his second home run. Quebecer JC Masson went 4-4 including a triple out of the nine spot. Emmanuel Sanchez was 3-4.
