All eyes were on Ricky Tiedemann's AA debut but Cameron Eden stole the spotlight. He doubled, stole third and stole home, then followed that with a three run home run. New Hampshire won easily. Sem Robberse was on point for Vancouver who also saw Damiano Palmegiani hit a grand slam. Buffalo had just three hits while Dunedin's bullpen cost them.

Buffalo 0 Scranton 5

Richmond 1 New Hampshire 6

Tri-City 2 Vancouver 10

Dunedin 4 Lakeland 7

FCL Blue Jays 0 FCL Yankees 14

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Just three hits for the Bisons. Nate Lukes had two. Gabriel Moreno was pulled after going 0-3. Four pitchers combined for Buffalo.

Ricky Tiedemann shutout Richmond for three innings with just one hit allowed. He struck out five. He was going head to head against the Giants #2 prospect Kyle Harrison. The Fisher Cats scored a couple off him. Sebastian Espino took him deep for a solo shot. In the fourth Cam Eden doubled, stole third and then stole home as part of a double steal.

With Harrison out of the game Eden hit a three run home run to make it a 5-0 game. Ryan Gold followed with a solo shot. Orelvis picked up two line drive singles off Harrison. Gabriel Ponce and Andrew Bash pitched well in relief of Tiedemann.

Sem Robberse had a good start. He was taken out of the park for a solo home run in the first inning. But other than that he was excellent. Five innings, eight K's.

Vancouver trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth. Garrett Spain homered to make it 2-1. Andres Sosa singled to tie the game then Damiano Palmegiani hit a grand slam to make it 6-2. PK Morris doubled in two runs in the eighth then Glenn Santiago singled in two more. The C's scored ten runs on seven hits. Five of those seven were run producing.

Dunedin used five consecutive singles in the fifth to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead. That looked good until the seventh when the unfortunate Kelvin Perez arrived on the mound. Perez hit two batters in the seventh and a run scored. Perez then walked the bases loaded in the eighth. A single scored two and an error let two more in. Dunedin were down 7-4 and that was it.

Dunedin had eight hits, Estiven Machado had two. It has been an odd season for Machado. He hit .211 in April, .299 in May, .203 in June and .333 in July. Machado has an eight game hit streak and over that period is 16-29.

Does the 2020 season count as an option used for players who were on the 40 man and spent most of their time at the alternate training site? Wondering if guys like Hatch and Kay are out of options after this season.

Hatch has 2 options and will be down to 1 next year. I imagine they'll move him to the pen where he was successful before too long.

Mitch White , Merryweather and Casey Lawrence are the only pichers on their last option.

Tiedemann is the second youngest pitcher in AA.
It looks like they are managing his innings carefully.

Thanks for these minor league updates. They are the sweetener in my morning coffee. Does anyone know how Nate Pearson is doing?

6 more series for NH/Vancouver so 6 more starts for Tiedemann (70IP so far) and Robberse (81IP).

Nobody knows exactly what they do at the development complex as far as I know. At the C'sPlus site interviews with pitchers gives some info. I imaging detailed video of where the foot lands, arm angles etc... Mid season reviews for Robberse and Tiedemann are probably a good thing.

The Jay's 7th and 8th round draft picks,Peyton Williams and Dylan Rock are debuting today for Dunedin. Both are college guys so they should be able to handle A ball.
