Orelvis looking good. Really think IF is good enough for next season. Vlad, Horwitz, Schneider, Wagner, Clement, Bo, Jimenez Barger, Orelvis. Fantastic depth as well means savings there. Even if they trade Bo, I think their depth is good enough. OF Dept is also great but I think signing a middle of the order LF would be huge boost (Soto is dream but O'Neill would be nice) and then another starter, a catcher who can play, and bullpen. Every team is mediocre so Jays can compete.

I agree with Glevin that there are many mediocre teams. Looking at the AL for example with 10 games to go TB and teams lower in the standing are probably out. If I am right then Boston with a .500 record is still in the hunt. Minnesota holds the last WC and is on pace to win 85 games. Never mind draft pick lottery odds.

Atkins has always been good at deadline acquisitions that get us in. I cannot blame him for selling this year at the deadline.

The division leader with the lowest wins (Houston) has to play in the 1st elimination round. Maybe I should think of that team as a WC team.

Glevin the more I look at the more i think we shouldn't waste any money on hitters.

You hope for a big bounceback from Bichette, and that the Horwitz breakthrough is real. And then there looks like plenty of depth to get mlb average offense from the rest of the lineup (and tbh the projections would think they should do much better than just average).

this team needs plenty of pitching help. Use all the money there.

They definitely need to add a big bat (along with a frontline SP). It's hard for me to see how the projections would think the rest of the lineup outside of Vlad, Bo, and Spencer will "do much better than just average". The only player that's perhaps a reasonable expectation for is Kirk, and even that is dicey.

That being said, an offense with 6 guys around league average along with 3 very good to excellent hitters would work.
